Collaborative Spotify Playlist for Dark Heresy?

Well that sounds like a great idea - I'm often struggling for music to play in the background of games I GM, how about you add your recommendations to this list?

If you use Spotify and subscribe to the playlist, we'll all get updates and be able to contribute to a great community resource?

I've added a few tracks already but I'm looking for as many really good, really dark atmospheric tracks, preferably entirely instrumental so we can talk easily over the top.

Playlist or soundtrack thread for Dark Heresy is a good idea. But I would think that maybe not using Spotify in this early phase might be a good idea.

Early? We've had Spotify for about 3 years over here, been using it day in and day out ever since, worth every penny :) Don't think they are going anywhere for a while :)

Thank you - you certainly have added a lot of things that could be a great fit - cheers :) For the moment, and no offence, I have taken a few of them out as rather than a 5 day long playlist with entire albums in it, I'd rather get a really well curated, polished list, that is say, ten hours long, and could be put on looping repeat for gaming sessions, make sense?

Anyway - thanks everyone for your help, looking forward to seeing what happens, going to do a quick blog post about this in a mo to conjure up some more tracks :)

I wasn't thinking about Spoitfy being to early to be used lengua.gif but that perhaps throwing up a thread to check the interest and get some suggestions before moving it to Spotify would be a better method.

Anyway I hope this will turn out well because it would be nice to the end result would be.

Certainly. I've been meaning to do the same thing myself, really. Just haven't got around to it. A spot of collaboration could be just the thing :)

As for inspiration, there have been many threads on the subject of music suitable for 40K RPG, both here and in the RT forum, as well as over on Dark Reign.

I added a few things a few days ago that I use in my games. I'll add more as I get time. I think this is a great idea though.

Thanks very much for your help and your input everyone - things are coming along nicely. I wrote a quick supporting blog post the other day and have asked in a few other forums as well, hope to get even more quality tunes in the list. Keep them coming!

I'm at work for the moment so I can't check what you've compiled, but please tell me something from Blade Runner made it on there.

I've added a bunch of tracks, I use when playing. They are mostly instrumental, but a few do have vocals. Still they tend to be either chanting or growling rather that outright singing. Feel free to clean up if you want it entirely instrumental.
