New set has been stores for some time and I already saw the cards but can't remember all. I want spoilers. I remember one good Agency and Shub character.
Somebody spoil the new set please
i get my copy later today. will try to get spoilers up at least by the end of the weekend.
That would be great. I will keep checking in.
I stopped by my FLGS to grab a copy today but their shipment hadn't been unpacked yet, and as I didn't have time to wait… so close, yet so far away. I guess it's to the back of the cultist line with me. Again.
Hey piszcadz, do you want to meet up at Guardian Games again for some cards n' beer? Let me know.
Well, here you all are. Nothing fancy, no PDF, no XLS, no pics, just straight text. Enjoy!
Words of Power
As far as my pick of the pack (coming from a scrub), I'd have to say, Black Dogs. Again, FFG has given us a card that can be put into any deck thus depriving Shub of it's exclusiveness. I like one other card better in terms of the card itself, but due to the versatility of all players give Black Dogs the Top Dog award.
In second place (or first place for card itself), I'd have to go with Knight of the Eclipse. 3 cost for 3 skill and 3 icons is solid by itself, regardless of faction. Throw on Invulnerability and Willpower for any tome card in play (which I'm betting this set as a whole will sport quite a few), simply awesomesauce.
@yipe: was that at rainy day? same thing happened to me there today. i finally nabbed it on my way home though. yeah, i would like to hook it up one of these nights/days. i can't do the 12th so i'd like to get a game or two in soon instead.

I had high expectations because last set was amazing. This set is not as good as last but still great. This cycle seems to be maybe best this far. Cards that I find interesting are:
Name: •Teodor Corvin
Type: Character
Cost: 3
SKill: 3
Icons: (T)(A)
Trait: Independent
Text: Disrupt: Exhaus Teodor Corvin to cancel 1 wound to a character. Then that character gains Invulnerability until the end of the turn.
Cost 3 is high for those icons but he can counter Khopesh for some turns by giving the wielder Invulnerability. Of course more common use is saving your guys. That ability only works good in stories during your turn, opponents turn you have to leave him uncommitted to make best use of that ability. Hard to say if he is good enough. Lets say 5/10 (5 meaning average and 1 total wallpaper, 10 auto include)
Name: Dragged into the Deep
Type: Event
Cost: 3
SKill:
Icons:
Trait: Disaster
Text: Action: Choose 1 non-unique card in play and place it on the bottom of it's owner's deck.
Interesting and cool Cthulhu destroy card. I like it and the flavor. Cthulhu should be great at destroying the rabble. Not super powerful but might place in some decks. 6/10
Name: Research Assistant
Type: Character
Cost: 1
SKill: 1
Icons: (I)
Trait: Faculty
Text: Response: After a player triggers the effect of a Tome support card, ready Research Assistant to draw 1 card.
This seems to be first card which is all ways better than old one (Laboratory Assistant). I don't have problem with that. Old bad/wallpaper cards shouldn't affect the new design. Forbidden Knowledge and Necronomicon is ok tome for Misk (especially together). 6/10
Name: Infirmary
Type: Support
Cost: 2
SKill:
Icons:
Trait: Location
Text: Loyal. Disrupt: When a {Miskatonic} character you control would be destroyed, return it to your hand instead of destroying it.
One of the best card in the set. Miskatonic can have good rushing start but it will lose fuel when the guys end up flying to discard pile. With this card you can keep the pressure. Misk has some good come into play effects also. 8/10
Name: Deranged Diva
Type: Character
Cost: 2
SKill: 2
Icons: ©(A)
Trait: Artist. Lunatic
Text: Action: Drive Deranged Diva insane to choose a player. That playermust choose 1 character he controls to go insance, if able.
Solid, just shame it is not Cultist. 7/10
Name: Black Dog
Type: Character
Cost: 2
SKill: 0
Icons: ©©
Trait: Monster. Creature
Text: Fast. Willpower. Response: After an opponent commits exactly 1 character to a story, pay 1 to put Black Dog into play from your hand committed to that story. After that story resolves, if Black Dog is still in play, return it to your hand.
Almost every deck should run Snow Graves already. With this Dog you can add another Shub cards also. This package can be good for any deck 2x Black Dog, 2x Snow Graves, 2x Burrowing Beneath or something similar. I like the card, opponent can still play actions after the Dog hits table so there are easy ways to counter it. 9/10
Name: Knight of the Eclipse
Type: Character
Cost: 3
SKill: 3
Icons: ©(A)(I)
Trait: Independent
Text: Loyal. While there is 1 or more Tome chards in play, Knight of the Eclipse gains Invulnerability and Willpower
Depends a lot of coming Tomes. Now most of the Tomes are rubbish. I don't think Invulnerability is so strong and it will not protect the Tome attachment so well because there still are lot of destroy, sacrifice and bounce effects. 3 cost Loyal is a lot so deck has to be almost all ST. Still ok card 6/10
Name: •Sergeant Donnelly
Type: Character
Cost: 4
SKill: 4
Icons: ©©(I)
Trait: Government. Criminal
Text: Action: Pay 2 to choose a non-Ancient One character committed to the same story as Sergeant Donnelly. That character's skill is lowered to 0 until the end of the phase.
I love the flavor. But 4 cost character with no protection against any removal is just bad. Doesn't create any advantage either. Junk of this pack. 2/10
Name: •O'Bannion's Ledger
Type: Support
Cost: 2
SKill:
Icons:
Trait: Tome. Attachment
Text: Attach to a character. Characters with 0 skill commited to the same story as attached character are discarded from play.
Cute idea and was made to combo with Donnelly but it just doesn't cut it. You have to attach this to character which risks the character to be removed. Then you need the card or effect to lower skill and then the opposing character has to be even in same story. That is lot of dedication to remove one character. Just makes me wonder why I don't just use easy sacrifice or destroy effects. This doesn't work with Fugitive Scientist either, opposing characters have skill but they just don't count it. 2/10
Name: •Eltdown Shards
Type: Support
Cost: 2
SKill:
Icons:
Trait: Tome. Attachment
Text: Attach to a character. Attached character gains (A)(A). Response: After you win an (A) struggle at a story where the attached character is committed, choose an aopponent. Look at that opponent's hand and choose and discard 1 card from that hand.
I want to like it. Usually I am not fan of attachment because if the characters gets killed you lost 2 cards versus 1. But discarding can be strong. 5/10
Name: •Marcus Jamburg
Type: Character
Cost: 3
SKill: 3
Icons: (A)(A)(I)
Trait: Independent. Relic Hunter
Text: Toughness +1. Action: Return Marcus Jamburt to your hand to choose and put into play a support card from your discard pile.
Seems very strong. You can lock the table by returning him to hand end of your story phase and return Dimensional Rift to play and trigger start of your opponents story phase. There are other good uses too. Toughness is great that you are almost sure he will not get Khopeshed or Shotgun Blasted before using the action. 8-9/10 (depending how often Snow Graves hits the table)
Name: •Library of Pergamum
Type: Support
Cost: 2
SKill:
Icons:
Trait: Library
Text: Disrupt: Exhaust Library of Pergamum to cancel an effect just triggered that would destroy a Tome card. Response: After a player triggers a Tome card's effect, choose 1 character and 1 story. Until the end of the phase that character gains or loses 1 © icon. Then, the chosen story gains or loses 1 © struggle until the end of the phase.
This card needs a rule answer. Rulebook says support cards are destroyed when character leaves play for any reason. So I should be able to counter Deep One Assault if it targets my character having a Tome. I am also safe from A Single Glimpse if I just have one character with Tome? If those answers are yes then I like the card and this card might see some play if not I don't see this card being very good. I just hope it would protect from Khopesh also.

Imho, it's supposed to work against effects targeting a tome to destroy it and effects destroying every tome (or support cards).
However, I've been wrong before, so, please go ahead and use the support function to get an official answer!
Oh, and I forgot: Thanks Dimzer for posting the spoiler!
I noticed one other card that strikes me as odd:
George Rogers: Is his ability really allowing you to search your deck for a Shub support card although he's a Yog character?

I think that is a mistake. Also thanks for spoiler

This is indeed a typo. I can confirm that he searches your deck for a Yog support card, not Shub.

I think this is a pretty good card. It's more than just a discard, you get to look at their entire hand and choose what you want to discard. For cost 2, that seems like a worthwhile effect even if you don't get to use it too many times. Knowing what your opponent has is really useful I think, and this can stop a problem card or combo before it happens. If you put it on a cheap guy then when they have a destruction effect available there's a dilemma on whether to use it on him or someone more powerful who doesn't have Eltdown Shards. Getting AA added to a character is a nice bonus too.
I know I'm late to the party but I should be picking up my copy tonight. The local store sold both their initial copies already but they're getting more in today.
