New figure carrier

By fhaugh, in Dust Tactics General Discussion

I just had to show off my new Allies army box. I can fit 600+ points of figures in it and I still have room left over. All the figures are secure and none of the paint gets rubbed off by rattling around in foam. Here's some pics:

Can I assume gravity holds them in place by using the little red piece and not magnets?

Very creative! Good job!

Very cool. What material is the little red pieces. I am interested in making something like this. The vertical hanging is effective as you don't need to dig down to a lower level to get access to a tray. Every tray is immediately accessible.

Would you be willing to write a little of how you made up the trays.
Thanks for sharing.

The trays are actually something I came up with and am looking into a patent. The tray slides open, the figure base is inserted into a custom size hole, and the tray is closed around it. Once the tray is closed, your can put it sideways, upside down, it doesn't matter, the figures aren't moving. Just as long as they are firmly attached to the base.

What if you have textured bases? How will they fit then without the texture wearing off? Have you tested it for this yet?

Yeah, don't think it would work if you do any sort of base work.

It does hold the figs by the base, so anything more than painting will get rubbed off. I'd rather have the basing rub off than the paint on the minis, though.
