The discussion on Dust Warfare was great.
I really enjoyed your comments about posters that are self proclaimed experts that will say something will not work before they have played one turn.

I've been listening for years, and as usual, it was a fantastic review. Missing Raef. Romeo was a bit harsh about the plastics, but I can see his point. Though, for the cost, there's value there.
Craig, you mentioned hanging out with Mack and the FFG guys. Did anyone mention anything about the Vrill? There's scattered hints in the fluff about a coming invasion, but there hasn't been any solid mention of FFG's plans for our Alien friends. I'm curious if they let anything slip about a fourth army.
Looking forward to the next episode.
~Steve
Thanks for all the kind words about the show everyone!!
Mack and FFG were very cagy about the 4th faction. I've heard the same rumors about the Vrill, but they were tight lipped. They did say we'd see previews of the next faction by Gencon (August) and that we could expect quarterly new releases like their LCG products.
Also, I believe the SSU will be in stores VERY soon.

Paolo has already mentioned on the Facebook group that the Vril have been in the early development stage

That was also my favorite part. Haters are the worst part of the gaming industry.

Well, I hear they will trickle out over the next 3 months with the Warfare book for them out shortly…
Basically what Russ said, regarding the 4th faction. I'd expect word to begin leaking over the summer, and some cool hand outs or whatnot at GenCon . . . but Mack and Anton and the guys were very cagy.
According to the Warstore, the SSU will, indeed, but breaking in 3 waves of release, with the first hitting stores any day now . . .
And thanks again for the kind words, guys! I agree, haters are the worst part of anyTHING. And honestly, I wasn't even frequenting this forum much when I wrote that, mostly the forum of another game company where I have a major project coming out in the next couple of months . . . But it just seems like in every walk of life there are folks who like to complain , and hey, we all do it sometimes, I know _I_ do it, sometimes quite often. But as a fellow teacher once said: If they were giving out $10 bills in the lobby, someone would be b*tching that they weren't $20s. Over 10 years ago he told that to me, and I've never forgotten it.
Great stuff Craig and Russ ! Love the church and buildings . The warstore.com as a set of three warlord games plastic rumbled out European house perfect for ww2 wargaming . I'm thinking of picking them up . Great deal for $ 44.00 . And again great show ! Keep us updated on your dust gaming
Just got word locally that the SSU has arrived!
. . . all of the first wave but the books . . . which is odd . . .

Like in stores? I think I might need a second source on that ![]()
Hey Craig, any thought to doing an X-Cam for this game?
If the SSU is in that's great, can't wait to see what they are capable of hopefully the Warfare book for them doesn't take long.

Holy guacamole! My wallet is sunk!
Myriad Games in NH does, in fact, currently have all of the first wave in the shop . . . except for the rulebook. Didn't have time on the way home from Avengers to relieve the babysitters, but the feeding frenzy here is already on.
As to an X-Cam . . . I can't imagine we WON'T do one, either Russ or myself. But until then, it's really easy to do it for yourself for this game because of the Battle Builder. Just look at a previous version (the Dystopian Wars one is up on my blog), and instead of those missions, use the Battle Builder, with points values designed in tiers . . . maybe Recon = 150, Strategic = 300, and Control = 450 or 500 . . . ?
Should be easy, and although I'm waiting until everyone's orders from Myriad and the Warstore come in, I'm hoping to get one locally off the ground in the next month or so . . .

awesome. When you get a chance to go by, can you give us a heads up on what's in the first wave?
OK, full confirmation:
The first wave HAS hit NH, and it contains:
SSU Command Squad
SSU Transport Chopper with Chinese Volunteers
SSU Close Combat Squad
SSU Battle Squad
Op. Zverograd for Dust: Tactics
So . . . no Dust: Warfare book . . . that'll be a sore spot for all the new Warfare fans . . . the first wave is basically useless for them until it comes out . . . and no walkers at all (except the character walker in the campaign pack)
Hold on . . . seems to be some confusion locally as to whether or not there was a walker box sighted . . . I'll update when I find out more . . .

Lol, I'm picturing you hovering in a traffic chopper over myriad games while reporting ![]()
thud thud thud thud thud . . . well, 293 seems backed up completely with folks heading in for the big SSU supply dump . . . I suggest taking the I-93 around and hitting Salem . . .
And to continue the theme, initial reports were correct: the only walker currently available to the SSU is the one in the Zverograd box . . .
Things that make you go hmmm . . . . ?
Thank you for the update Chopper D6, now heres Jim with Sports!

Thats pissy. Waiting for the walkers to be released will delay Miniature Market from shipping all my pre-orders. Thanks FFG. Only upset because they announced that they would all be the same day releases. But oh well, will give me time to finish up painitng my Allied French Foreign Legion before the SSU arrive. Roughly 3 squads left to paint of the FFL.
Hmmm . . . Dan at Myriad apparently told pre-ordering folks that the mediums WERE in the shipment . . . so again, confusing reports.
I'll know for sure in the next day or so. I'll keep you posted!
~Craig
I would also love to see the heroes that you can currently only get in the campaign box released separately. I would like Markus and three more units of Gorillas. After playing Warfare, I don't see myself playing Tactics.
Craig the comic compendium is available on a certain website run by giant women with spears. Just search for Dust Wars. The show was great, keep up the good work.
Craig, any updates on what's out for the SSU? LGS here has nothing yet…
