Is sleeving the entire collection hopeless?

By dead jawa, in Runebound

I got the base game, and sleeved all the cards, which worked fine. Now at a big sale at my local flgs I purchased everything else for the game. Looking at it, I'd like to sleeve it all but it appears it may be hopeless. I may have to sort by card backs, some of the cards have double sided information (Sands), and I may be running out of colors to differentiate different card types. Is sleeving the entire game set hopeless, or can it be done?

I think it might be a bit too much. Although, I do love the idea of protecting the cards.

But I can only imagine what your market stack will look if every card was 3 or 4 times as thick as normal!! Specially if you have all the deck expansions. Even if you break down the Market stack into separate decks like in a very popular mod for the game. And as it is, I can barely fit all the base (and addition base) game pieces into one box.

I think it would be a real struggle. I've played a lot of games of Runebound and my cards are still is excellent shape. They're not being handled as much as a game like Magic for example.

I plan on sleeving the entire Runebound collection. Use penny sleeves. they're thinner, cheaper, have clear backs so you don't need more than 1 kind, and dont damage the cards like CCG and other sleeves do.

My only beef is that once sleeved, my card expansions won't fit in their boxes any more. Since they're small, I'll sleeve and desleeve them between uses.

I think I've found an answer to my own question! Go to ThoughtHammer and search for Euro Game Card Sleeves. Clear sleeves that are 59mm by 92mm. They just came out. I'm going to order a whole slew of them and sleeve my entire collection!

Those are a type of penny sleeve (from what I hear), and are what I was talking about. The ones I buy locally fit fine, but thse will probqbly fit even better!
