Anyone else hoping that FFG releases the heros that are in the campaign expansions in a single box set or am I the only one who has no intentions on playing Dust Tactics?
Wishful Thinking
I have very little interest in Dust Tactics. So, I hope for the same.
I wouldnt be surprised to see FFG release the heroes from the original core box and first two expansions in hero boxes. With the core out of print and the first two expansions not having any 'value added" for warfare players. Also by previous example it would make sense to keep 3 heroes in the box. It seems the 2nd two expansions have more for the warfare player - large building plus heroes and the small building plus mech and hero pilot. It will probably be later rather than sooner before they get a separate release.

I posed a picture of the gorilla squad and my 'proxy' markus on my blog. http://gamingasweknowit.blogspot.com/2012/05/proxy-markus-and-squad.html I think you guys will love it. Lol.
if they are going to announce somthing like that i would bank that it would happen at gencon.

I don't know. I guess it comes down to whether they decide Warfare or Tactics is the "main line".
The units in the Revised Core set are also an annoyance. You can codge a Weapons Squad together from a Recon Rangers Squad and the extra bazooka from a Combat Squad, but Attack Squads are mandatory for Assault Platoons and Heavy Assault Squads are highly useful, and the RCS is currently the only source for both.
You could use the flamers from 2 BBQ squads to make the attack squad…

I asked one of the FFG employees about this very topic and he said that FFG is aware that there is demand for the heroes from the Tactics campaigns and that they'll likely be "adressing" that in the near future. Also, sounds like we'll soon be able to buy Dust dice soon too.
I won't be buying their dice… Being a 40k player I have more dice than I need and would rather just roll standard dice and get a 5 or 6 for my hit markers. Hopefully they understand there is a "Market" of players for a totally different wargame that does not see the price point for only two models.
Hopefully they also address the issue of an axis command unit only being available in the core set. >.>

You can already buy Dust dice at http://www.dust-models.com

Huh? Which one are you talking about? Kommandotrupp is available in a unit box.

That is a great markus stand in, I may have to copy you on that one. While I think it would be great long term if they did a Hero box with the heroes from the First Core set and first 2 expansions, I'd have to admit I'd be a bit salty (as I have been hunting them down and buying from around the web and have already spent way more then they would cost in unit box form).

The Blutkruez, aka the Pioniere is not available anywhere other than the core.
These are in the Revised Core Set. Aren't all the units in the Revised Core Set only available in that set?
All in, consider the total benefit of buying the Revised Core Set anyway. I estimate the total value of the units within at around $140 - 2 walkers, 3 5-man squads, 3 3-man heavy squads, and 2 heroes. All for $80. That is not a poke in the eye.

I've seen the revised core set on Amazon for $60.
As for the heroes, I lucked out and picked up the original core set when it came out. I didn't care much for the board game, so I never picked up the campaign boxes. I would love to see the heroes for the Dust Tactics expansions in separate boxes, so that we could pick and choose what we want. Maybe in individual blister packs, like the Descent lieutenants.
I am happy that Cerberus and the new SSU expansion will have buildings in them. Especially the SSU expansion; I think $45 for a building plus a hero and a mech is not too bad a price. I hope going forward, FFG will "value pack" all the Dust Tactics expansions to make them worthwhile for Dust Warfare players.
I have Cerberus. That building is something else and no doubt. Massive, three stories, modular - it's not a ruin; looks like an industrial area in construction, done except for the windows and insides. Good rules for three-dimensional gaming (for Dust Tactics, of course) included. It's an all-infantry affair, naturally; walkers don't fit inside. If the next expansion's going to have another of these behemoths, good on it, that'll make the price tag really worth it.

Next expansion comes with 1 story building and SSU hero and SSU walker. So it's good if you want SSU units and a few more building pieces.
Yeah, Zverograd looks like it'll be just as good a deal as Cerberus was (which was amazing IMO). Especially if you are shamelessly buying everything as it comes out like I am
. I guess thats the advantage to getting in on teh ground floor with a game though.
The core set is nothing to shrug at yes, but when you need just one unit out of it for the platoon structure in multiples… that's when it become stressful. I don't need four Lara's…. I don't want 4 Rhino's or the various Allies that come with them I just want the Pionieres so I can build my Axis army.
So cost wise… $50 for 4 command squads or $200 for 4 command squads what's cheaper?
