Lack of caution or, of foresight… you choose!

By Skeletor6, in Dark Heresy

You are an inquisitor of the prestigious Ordo Malleus. In your long career you have seen much: from the bizarre and blasphemous rituals of lowly sorcerers to the battles raging on in the Cadian Gate. You have put down more than your fair share of daemons in the past and have even beheld in person the traitorous powers of the Chaos Space marines at the battle on Cadia itself in the 13th black crusade.

In the lull after that great conflict (which has spawn many lesser heresies which require constant tending) you have been contacted by the most peculiar individual. Someone with a deep seeded (and healthy) hatred of the forces of chaos but with a nearly heretical volume of knowledge of the working of such.

After much deliberation with your trusted acolytes you decide to go ahead and meet with this person, as you usually construct, under your own terms. In a secretive and trusted location you meet with the individual and you are surprised by what you find: A woman, an Eldar woman.

A moment is taken to confirm that she is the contact you made before, and once confirmed she goes on to tell you "I am from Craftworld Altansar once hidden within the veil of the warp for 10 thousand years! but liberated by Phoenix Lord Maugan Ra. My people have learned that all races have a stake in the battle against the forces of chaos and know far too intimately how dire our galaxy's situation is. I was sent to you by like-minded individuals…. I wish to serve along side you in the battle against chaos."

Your years of battle against chaos has served you well in sensing the taint inside the hearts and souls of man, but the xenos is a strange and potentially deadly unknown. Her knowledge is indeed valuable and many a strange thing has happened since that last fateful black crusade the only question is…. what do you do now?

Ally with her, ofcourse!

Never turn down an Eldar woman :)

I refuse naturally, I will not taint my soul with the lies of aliens and making myself a puppet of the Eldar. Hell, for all I know this is just another cog in one of their machinations. If she had been a human who was free of taint I would be very interested and recruit her to be my Acolyte, but since she is not I will have nothing to do with her.

Normally I would kill her for the crime of being a xenos but since we are to negotiate and there are certain regulations regarding such things I would let her go but also tell her that I want nothing to do with her kind. They'll have to find themselves another puppet.

"What did you say,….witch!?"

I would then give a signal to the rest of my cell, ( "Burn her!!!) as they move in and incinerate her. Id then go after the Laughing God for being a heretic and an 'Eldar lover'….

And here I go with my swing vote again! Since I AM an Inquisitor of the Holy Ordo Malleus I have similar sanction to a Rogue trader when dealing with Aliens (As do my Acolytes!) I would certainly accept the Alliance but not be so foolish as to trust everything she says without verification! There is within Imperial Law the concept of the "sanctioned Xeno" (Details found in into the storm) so this alliance is not even remotely Heretical! I might consider burning the laughing god for his impure Xenophilia though! (This would also eliminate the competition!!lengua.gif)

For the same reason I'm sure! gui%C3%B1o.gifcorazon.gifpartido_risa.gif

@ Laughing God, agreeing is becoming a habit, good to know someone will have my back at the conclave,

@ Gurkhal, to be expected from such a dogmatic puritan,

@Radwraith, glad to see you're not a complete monodominant at least.

I would ally with the Eldar. After all, history shows that even though they are not to be trusted, they are as opposed to chaos as a true servant of the Emperor.

I would require of her a token of sincerity. Some proof or gesture to get me on board, I'm not about to start hanging out with Xenos without a bloody good reason to believe it is worth the compromise. I would also arm myself with as much information as I can get from my good budies in the Ordo Xenos about treating with Eldar.

As trust tends to build over time, I would also set up a mechanism, such as confiding in a trusted ally to remind me every year or so that the Eldar are mysterious and inscrutible and that I should never completely trust her.

As for wanting to 'get there', she's a frikken XENO, I cannot see the attraction chaps. It's not even heresy, it's just gross, especially when there are a gazillion human women in the galaxy!

The Laughing God: I'll start to build the pyre for you…

Lucien Kallus: Its good to see another faithful of the Emperor who will not walk into the xenos' trap, I salute thee!. Even if I can't completely agree with breaking the rules of parley I will not try to stop the eredication of a xenos either, although I would like to make a protest against it.

Radwraith: You are right that a sanctioned xenos can exist but you make a mistake when you walk into the machinations of the Eldar. Be careful before they make you their puppet without you ever realizing it.

Zakalwe: The enemy of my enemy is still my enemy. Otherwise we might as well join forces with the Necrons and the Orks. Like Radwraith I'm happy to see that you won't walk straight into their trap but like Radwraith you should beware the treachery and manipulation of the Eldar. Or your Ordo Xenos friends might have to correct the situation that has aroused.

lol! I love sneaking in here throughout the week to see what you guys post. This is fast becoming one of my favorite boards to follow.

Next week's question is a little ambitious but I can't wait to see what you guys have!

Even the thought of 'getting there' with an Eldar means your soul is impure, and should be cleansed, with fire….slowly…..very slowly.

Ill then turn you into an ornate candlestick so the masses can see what happens to other heretics….lengua.gif

There is a lesson to be learned from the Eldar in this case: Not so much join forces with Orcs or Necrons but rather, turn them against each other. It's much easier to pick up the pieces afterword!gui%C3%B1o.gif This also allows Us to preserve our own strength in case the Eldar betray our newfound alliance or any other faction becomes stupid!cool.gif

Suffer not the alien to live.

There is nothing the Eldar can learn us except how to destroy them. If you are so blind you for a second think that the Eldar will want a true alliance with anyone else and not either a fool or strings or useful puppet then you are sorely mistaken and it will cost you dearly. The simpleton Orks and the uncaring Necrons as much use to use as allies as the Eldar are.

The Eldar are actually surpisingly similar to Chaos in many ways. They lied, decite and trick with whatever bait they think might hold in order to further their damnable agenda. And both of them need to be purged with purifyng fire.

Easy Gurkhal! Nobody is talking about handing watch stations over to the Eldar! I know from my surprising depth of forbidden Lore (I AM Ordo Malleus after all!) that Eldar HAVE in fact made temporary Alliances with Humans AND stuck to them PARTICULARLY where the raw threat of Chaos and the warp were concerned. In this case the agenda of the Eldar and my own APPEAR to be aligned! We must of course be eternally vigilant for deception and betrayal from any Xeno but it is not unknown for Eldar to be Honorable. Are they serving their own ends? Of course they are! That is why we must ensure that our "Alliance" remains true to it's stated purpose! An ancient Terran prophet once said "Trust but Verify." Those were words to live by in his day and they are no less so now. (Perhaps Reaganus was touched by the Emperor?gui%C3%B1o.gif)

Let the witchwoman fight the chaos spawn. Best case they will all kill each other. Worst case, she serves as a distraction I can use to further my own plans.

I'll also make sure to record who she may have communicated with in order to learn of my identity. Useful blackmail material if nothing else.

Ally with her. Gain access to the Black Library of Chaos after earning her trust.

After you earn said trust, plunder it of all its knowledge, then use it to destroy the forces of Chaos.

Following that, burn the Eldar and their wicked race for creating a Chaos God.

For once I'm going to agree with the puritans. Craftworld Eldar are a threat to Humanity and the witch must be punished most severely for her insolence… and indeed for the very fact of her continued existence. This exact xenos breed is too adept in reading the paths of Fate to be sucessfully manipulated, and if an inquisitor stands for an alliance with the Eldar, he richly deserves whatever gruesome fate awaits him in the near future.

Remember the tragic tale of inquisitor Caustus of the Ordo Xenos, and do not repeat his mistakes.

Once the eldar is dead, arm youself and steel your soul for a holy crusade against the meddling xenos, for their taint must be purged from Imperial space at all costs. Seek out and eliminate every accomplice and minion of the foul witch, burn every traitor to Humanity they reached an understanding with and do not rest until you feel thrice certain that the evil conspiracy is utterly crushed.
