I apologize ahead of time if this is answered somewhere, I tried searching through topics about spells and after 18 pages I gave up.
So, my wife and I are playing right now and she has a spell "Enchant Weapon" "Any Phase: Cast and exhaust to make one physical weapon a magical weapon until the end of this combat".
Can she cast it on me during MY combat phase?
And if so can any spell with the "Any Phase" be cast this way?
Who is able to be the target of a buff casted by a player?
If you can use a spell to help another investigator it will state that explicitly in the spell's text so your wife can't cast it on your weapons. The "Any Phase" text is there because combat can occur during movement, Arkham encounter and Other World encounter phases.
Yeah, the wording "this combat" implies the combat you're involved in, otherwise it'd have been worded differently AND, as arkhamresident correctly pointed out, in case an interaction with another investigator is possible, it should be stated on the card.
As per "any phase", you can also fight monsters as result of an encounter; the "any phase" sentence implies you can cast this spell whenever you enter combat
Ah, alrighty. Thanks for the clarification.
I hadnt run into too many spells thus far so I havent seen any that specify if they can be used on another player or not (We've only played roughly 3 games of the base version of Arkham Horror), so I wasnt sure, I'm so used to playing TCGs where the rules can be interpreted and exploited so many different ways lol.
I'll keep this in mind now
