Can you please give a me little more information. What look ? the Rust?
Very nice job man!! Have you tried putting any dust axis trooper models inside those half-tracks? I'm assuming they're 1/48 scale.

I would be interested to hear how you got both the mottled look on the grey and the rust effect. Both are very nice.

Ok thanks for the info. Now I understand what you are asking.
Lets start with the gray.
For Dust models I used the basic gray base coat. For other models I use Rust-Oleum Painters Touch Gray Primer. Works great and usually covers in one coat. Then I use a wash made from Tamiya flat black and Tamiya thinner. Its a medium to heavy wash so it does darken the gray a little. I let that dry then do a heavy highlight of Games Works Shop Codex Gray. I follow this up with a Light Highlight of Games Workshop Fortress Gray. At this point im done highlighting till later.
For the Dust walkers I then sponge on GW Scorched Brown then Vermin Brown and then Bolt Gun Metal. Now I like to do quick and light highlight of GW Bleached Bone all over the model. Very light just on the edges. For heavy chipping ill do black lines covered in GW Mithril Silver. Now im ready for applying the powders. I go with a dark then light rust and pick random spots where rust would be. I use a black soot around exhaust ports or gun barrels. That it for the Dust Model.
For the vehicles I apply mud using Polly-S Earth and then US Desert Storm Sand. After this I will do a very light GW Bleached bone all over the model. Chipping is done same as above as is the rust and soot powders.
Everything is then hit with Rust-Oleum Painters Touch or Valspar Clear Gloss coat 2X and the Testors or Model Master Clear Matt Flat.
Hope this helps. Message me at [email protected] if you have more questions and I will be happy to try and answer them. Good Luck!!!
Thank you for the information.
