Advanced Enemy Encounters

By hyeperionx, in Talisman Home Brews

Now I am a huge Talisman fan but for one thing or another I have always found the final encounters like the Dragon King etc somewhat…lacking in depth as they are simply same old combat system untill you injure him 5 times and send him to the funeral home.

Now I also use to play World of Warcaft a lot and completely loved the way raid bosses were played out, so many different ways of dying by so many factors and i thought is there possibly a way to bring this mechanic of encounters into Talisman…my mind began to wander

Now first of all I do apologise if someone else in the forum/community has already done this and the fact im too lazy to go through all the posts to find out if someone has is bad on my behalf but here are some new final encounters that can be used, I was also toying with a idea of a monster that can wander around the board but can only be encountered by choice.

So please take a look and tell me what you think. I also included a heroic challenge option to make them even harder just in case you think they are still a little too easy please leave me any feedback as i wish to create more of these encounters.

Dam it i forgot to scale them please right click and download them to your desktop LMAO

Isis reminds me of "Star Magician" from Golden Sun series. He appeared as a boss two times, and he was summoning some balls, one of them was healing him, the other one was a K.O. attack, another ball was blocking all attacks towards Star Magician etc. gui%C3%B1o.gif

Nice work!

It's cool to have some more end bosses for the game.

I especially like the inclusion of Heroic Challenges too as it will appeal to the hard core gamer.

That could be a cool option to add into the Talisman plug-in for Strange Eons at some point…

Not sure if the copyright gods would allow it, but it would be interesting to see the official end bosses (Eagle King, Lord of Darkness, etc.) done up in a similar way.

Dont think they would have a problem as no one would be making any money out of it once i created a whole bunch of new ones i might redo the old ones

If you just make standard Ending/Boss cards, you can always add in Epic Challenges for anything using the templates I made for Mephisto cards.

…and yes, I know the text is just the standard text, but it was just to give an idea! :)

This way, it saves on printing, you can have either a picture of the original ending on the reverse, or just leave it blank.

OR…

Have Advanced Challenge on one side, and Epic Challenge on the other, making three possible levels of difficulty…

I'm finding these to be quite versatile!

Just a thought.

How about having the standard Ending/Boss as an Ending card, and then having the two sides of the overlay being "Heroic" and "Epic"?

Here is a good idea I could create a new centre board similar to the dragons one with the new encounters and the following set up

Weaken off the intital stats i created so the boss can wander the board but not be over powered and rewards for defeating them

Inside the new center board three more random encounters at heroic level

And a final one at epic level

This will make a very strong final challenge that is combat orientated

Is there any chance i can get hold of the plug in with the rule cards you can generate

These are currently only in Photoshop format. I can try to make them into a plug-in reasonably soon. I just need a good run up at it…

Back again people I have been busy as hell with work and other stuff, the bloody Olympics is a nightmare for the parking industry but here is a updated version of Gutrot containing three skill levels of attack to please all varieties of players.
