Cheers people, I have lore or source pointing question regarding my brainstorming-in-progress campaign which would be probably mashing several 40kRPG systems, but the question is most relevant to this subforums I guess.

First I´d like to ask, if anybody could point me towards mentions of Astartes Chapter named Charnel Guard. IIRC they were first mentioned in ancient Dark Heresy timeline as participating on Angevin Crusade, then in Imperial Armour vol. 9.: The Badab War, as one of the Maelstrom Warders (before their withdrawal to location unknown) and there are some indications, that cracked and auctioned Space Marine pauldron in House of Dust and Ash (in DotDG) is of Charnel Guard origin. Any other known mentions?

I would also love to hear any home made version of their stories or imagining. I always see tham as some weird cross between Imperial Fists and Khornate Berzerkers (regal, honourable, self-sacrificing, but batshit insane murderers and sadists even to the Astartes standards), with dark secret (connection with Haarlocks, sudden withdrawal from Malstrom… I blame Komus) and heraldics always looking suspiciously similar to that of Exorcists

I have tiiiny-little hope that they will be inclouded in Honour the Chapter (alongside Carcharodons, Minotaurs, Fire Hawks, Red Scorpions and other mostly FW covered chapters) …

In the Radical's Handbook its writen on page 118 "A Secret History" that they were present during the Exterminatus of Phaenon Prime. But its only a very small mentioning.

Thank you, will check it out, I also found this bit on Lexicanum: "As part of the Manus Irae, the Charnel Guard carried out the Great Malagantine Purge in which hundreds of billions of people were slaughtered". Seem to me they are a bit genocidal.
