Death Korps►►►

By IronRavenstorm, in Only War

With this coming out to do you think that it might be possible later on that they release something to do with the Death Korps► Just think about it. Death Korps RPG

It''s a bit of low-hanging fruit as the Death Korps are the "edgy super dark" Imperial Guard, but sure they have an interesting story. It would make heretics a heavy player of the NPC section which some people might frown upon but I personally wouldn''t mind.

At this point I have no idea how FFG is going to handle the various regiments of the Guard, doubtful that you''ll be allowed to mix like in Deathwatch or Black Crusade as it''s a little strange for the point of this game (yeah yeah yeah "conscripts", whatever.) it might not even be a factor in the game itself and they simply focus on the specialties and let the group decide what faction they are. Alternatively maybe they will provide some templates that apply bonuses to the group as a whole. We''ll have to see.

Well, judging by the popularity of the Death Korps I wouldn't be surprised if it was one of the Regimental choices the GM can make.

i dont know if Death Korps of Krieg would allow a lot of role playing chances because there so expendable and so far FFG hasnt shown a pattern of expendable players. in deathwatch your not a base marine your in the frigin Deathwatch, in black crusade you arnt just a base marine your a chosen, and in Only War one of the classes was a storm trooper… realy not expendable. maby if you were a grenidear (paredn my spelling) but even then, on top of all that you pretty much have no emotions. i dont know guys.

In Dark Heresy you can play untouchtable, dude with no emotions and no soul:P And Death Korps are expendable, but so is whole Imperial Guard to a degree. If Korpsmen is lucky and bloody-minded enough he can end up commanding several regiments as there is no military aristocracy on Krieg. There could be good comparision to the DH mind-cleansed origin - emotionless, asocial, fanatical and occasionaly mad-as-jokareo-on-flects.

I just remembered, in Siege of Vraks Trilogy, there is a Krieg officer (who due to the nature of their promotions must started as mere korpsman) in one quite brutal clash with renegades, and over next two books he will end up as regimental commander, general, and eventualy member of reutine of the most powerful Malleus Inquisitor Lord in Sector…

of course they can become commanders because there Korpsmen. that has nothing to do with anything. they are nothing but warriors and the advansment might as well be pre programed as if they were servitors. if all you know how to do is be a warrior than your not going to find it hard or diffucult to understand simply advanceing in rank. also storm troopers are defnetly not expendable. they are the best of the best they are the Deathwatch of the imperial guard if you think about it. thats not expendable.

All depends on the scale and theme of Only War. Acolytes are generaly all expendable to their Inquisitors. In Rogue Trader, if you play the PCs as part of Greater Dynasty, they could be this to their Patriarch/Matriarch. One Deathwatch team is this from the point of view of Achillus Crusade High Command if needed. So yes, Krieg Kill-team, Sabatorum operation, Engineer company, or mere squad trying to acomplish their sucidal objectives are all expendable, but overcoming these odds (even if ending in Total Party Kill) could always make a funny game.

Oh, servitors? I´d love to see next 40k game line, Servants of the Imperium, with Archeotypes such as Servo-skull, Arco-Flagellant and such, no Fate Points, no will, just mute service in the Emperors Name.. lengua.gif
