NPCs action cards for PCs

By Yepesnopes, in Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay

I tried to recicle some NPCs action cards for my PCs.

I am allowing them to take

Ranged:

Inescapable Death (Dreadfleet Captains)

Warning Shot

Whip Strike

Support:

Come, Face Me!

Resist de Lure

Are you also allowing some NPCs cards to your PCs? Which ones?

I have. I can't remember which ones, but two from Dreadfleet got put into the general pool, and I'm letting my wizard have access to Schulman's Celestial Storm or whatever it was called. (I had to go through the entire spell deck to decide that it is a Rank 1 spell.) And most of the human NPC type cards that we've gotten have been in the pool too. Basicaly, I haven't seen any cards that strike me as too unbalancing and like my players to have access to more options.

In general, in RPGs I don't like games that have different rules for PCs and NPCs, so there are elements of this game that are tough on me. But allowing similar options in action cards helps that a lot.

i let mine use a dark elf action, i think it was something like "dark shade strike" or something, for our assasin

another dark elf one is volley of death, which is used by our dwarf engineer

and right now i am running a campaign in which one of my players gets a mark of khorne, so i might offer him one or 2 khorne actions.

also i allowed a wizard with a mark of tzeentch once to use tzeentch spells.

of course, actions with the chaos trait will always have a high risk of causing corruption, the spells always had 1 automatically and the khorne actions deal 1 corruption for each chaos star rolled by default.

i tend to find some cards that could be really useful for my players when looking through the NPC deck, then i decide to just shuffle them into the PC cards without telling them, once they get to buy a new action and look through the deck themselves they can have it ;-) makes itfun for me to seehow long it takes them to find a nice card
but for that i must say i have the action cards sorted really well, i think i got like 28 piles of cards dividing them into all the different traits, checks, character options, so it makes it pretty easy to find new cards...
