someone just emailed me that khopesh has been banned from tournament play. is it true that this tool of the talentless is really gone?? do i start the party yet??

I have not heard anything to this effect.

Perhaps they're confusing the term "banned" with "restricted"? I can't see this card being banned. It's good, but not that good, and its effectiveness can be reduced or negated fairly easily.

on that note. where is this fabled restricted list please. i cant find it here anywhere.

You will find the restricted and banned card list in the FAQ. In the most recent version (2.1) it's on the second page, lower right-hand corner under the heading Restricted Cards .

Don't fear the 'Khopesh'. And don't fear the 'Stygian Eye' either.

I see it more as an possibility in the deck of my enemy.
