Number of cards?.?.?

By Tearsheet, in 2. AGoT Rules Discussion

How many cards should be in a deck? I know MtG is sixtyish. Is there a set number. In addition, is there a number of event cards, and any other cards that have a specific number in a deck. I read the instructions, but i could not find it.

Thanks,

Joey

It's in the rulebook. Here's the relevant info:

• Your plot deck must contain exactly seven
cards, and may not contain any duplicate plot
cards.
• Your House deck must contain at least 60 cards,
and may not contain more than three copies of a
card.
• Your plot deck and your House deck may not
contain any card that contains the words “House
X only,” unless House X is the House you are
playing (i.e., the House denoted on your House
card).

Most competitive decks try to stick to right at 60 cards, so the deck is more efficient.

There are no limits - either maximum or minimum - on the number of events, characters, locations, etc. If you think you can build a deck that is all events, have at it. Many people try to do about 50% characters, 25% locations, and 25% attachments and events combined. But, of course, for different strategies and Houses, this changes a lot.

There is no "formula" or "algorithm" for creating a deck.
