Ran out of evidence and favours by day 10

During a 5-player game, we found we had [placed every evidence chip on the suspects by the end of day 10, every placeable conspiracy piece was placed by day 11 and all favours had been taken by day 12. Anyone else found this? Seemed like it was incredibly easy to place multiple evidence every turn and that was everyopne's focus at the start. We didn't use the abilities of the board spaces much as they seemed much less important.

Any thoughts?

We had our first 4 people game yesterday and we used up all the conspiracy in the first 5 days I think (you can get a lot of points for placing the 5th tile), then we exhausted the evidence pool by day 11, so the climax was very anticlimatic... We were ok on favours, although the red ones were in high demand since they were worth +3 VP per one.

So the last 2 days was boiled down to playing cards.
