Tank Killers and Ranger Heavy Weapon Squad Question

Am I correct that you upgrade Battle Grenadiers to Tank Killers by paying 3AP?

And

You upgrade the Combat Ranger Squad to Rangers Heavy Weapon Squad by paying 3AP?

I guess what is confusing is the way they worded the upgrade on Page 94, by adding the word additional.

Yes, still a 5 man unit, you just pull out one model for the upgraded special weapon model. So the allied "Gunners" would be 20 pts for 2 bazooka models.
