2 Champs and a Chump Episode 61- Awkward

By Kennon, in 1. AGoT General Discussion

I thought you did a pretty good job all by yourself.

Why thank you. I'm relatively happy with how it went, as far as content goes, but it's just so much more dynammic when there's someone else's opinion and thoughts to consider.

I liked it. It was about the right length as well. Can't believe you couldn't find ANYONE (hint, hint). lengua.gif

Oh I see, you're a podcast ***** now??

Will, I want to give you props for this episode of 2 Champs 1 Chump. I am torn on how to rate the overall quality of the episode. On one hand, you stuck with the content, offered thoughtful analysis, and provided unique/exclusive information (ie Damon''s note about Free Man) that added real value to my AGOT experience and entertained me at the same time. This was easily the best episode I''ve heard in awhile. On the other, a podcast is never quite as entertaining with only one host…unless your name is Dr. Horrible (and you sing really well).

Bottom line, if you somehow had the same level of analysis and insights with multiple hosts, this podcast would easily get a 10 out of 10 from me. Obviously this would take more prep work in terms of planning out how much time you spend on each subject. For the record, I would certainly prefer the less structured podcast with light editing that continues to be offered for free versus no podcast at all. But for the sake of constructive criticism, I wanted to let you know that the podcast is usually worth listening to but sometimes follows off-topic rants and low-brow jokes that make me less enthusiastic about next week''s episode. (This is my personal opinion…I appreciate that many other listeners may feel differently.)

As far as this past week is concerned, well done, sir.

You know…. Kristen and I do a decent rendition of "My Eyes." You know, it''d even still be a one man show then….

Like Twn2dn said, with just a little more prep and it''s a 10/10 in my book.

+1 to Twn2dn''s post. I think you did well by yourself. The reason it was short is because there is not any time-consuming banter. But the content was good. I''ve actually enjoyed the past few weeks - like your deck construction episode - minus the banter.

What''s funny is that it''s apparent that there is some prep for the show, but I find it funny that you actually confer with each other about the prep during the show, and discuss how you agreed to do such-and-such. "Well, we talked about doing this. Is it okay with you if we do that►" "Yes, I''m not opposed to doing that." lengua.gif

Taking that stuff out, as well as the low-brow banter, could shave off at least half an hour. My wife actually won''t let me listen to it without headphones in the house, because I don''t know if at any moment some will yell the f-word or say something misogynistic.

Put me on the side of some banter but less than what you usually do. The important thing is that you continue to enjoy doing it and if the banter is what makes it for you all then continue.
