Awhile back when the 'walker contest' was first announced I bought a spare Medium walker box for the Axis and Allies. It has been sitting on my desk for quite some time so last night I decided to take a knife to the Axis Medium walker and pull it apart then add some custom/hermann bits into the mix.

Koshka and her modified Grand'ma walker have nothing on Sigurds custom ride I assure you.

Behold the Siegfried!

Haven't even begun the paint job on it yet (just a quick light grey to cover the custom parts for now) and there are a bunch of areas I need some 'green stuff' to fix up but you get the general idea.

I re-articulated the legs to give it a more menacing presence, it stands a fair bit higher than the other Medium walkers.

I had other plans for the rocket pod initially, it was have been attached about 2 mm above right the right "arm" but after thinking about it I wanted to have it removable to use with my other walkers hence it uses same mount.

Weapon-wise the Siegfried drops the MG44 of the typical Medium Walkers for the Herman Laser, Has twin 8.8cm guns from the Ludwig with the same stats, and gains half of the Nebelwerfer 42's weapon stats with an estimated point field cost of 55.

Lastly... If Sigrid pilots it it gets Bezerk.

My Custom Allied Medium walker is going to be ALOT different from the regular Medium walkers as I want it to be different from the 'tank with legs' design... Stay tuned!

Decided to finally get to cutting up my spare Allied medium walker box and this was the result. I still have to do a bunch of sanding, filling, finish the camo pattern (just did a quick pass to get a feel for how it will look) and finally a blackwash + highlighting but I enjoy seeing everybody elses work in progress stuff so here goes.

The 'head' is the leftover front "nose" from my Allied Light Walker conversion, go go recycling!

Love the design! Absolutely on the best customs I've ever seen for this game! Congratulations. Very creative use of parts.

But man... thin down your paint before applying! It looks like your poured chocolate on that thing.

With the brown paint I was attempting to add some depth to the flat surfaces by not thinning the burnt umber…. It should (hopefully) look decent once the green gets repainted as well and I get a wash/drybrushed…. I forsee some light sanding in my future though.

Its just good the ''contest'' has concept and not painting entries for guys like me.

Got some more work done on my "Frog" walker, as the contest I'll be entering it in isn't based on painting I'll probably leave it to this point. Next to it is a unit from my next project.

And the back since a few people PM'd me for some pictures of how the legs were done - why not post that request in the thread?…

Looks like the camera grabbed the reflection of the drybrushed boltgun metal a fair bit… the tanks don't have brown on them IRL.

My next project is for Armor 2 Allied/Axis "Elite" command squads for use in 500+ PT DT/DW games…. but more on that later.

The Frog looks absolutely stunning! What a great custom walker!
