Games Day Chicago 2012 RPG'ing?

By GalaxyUC, in Rogue Trader

Hey guys,

I don't know if anyone has ever been to GW's Game Day here in Chicago, looks like its a big, awesome convention and I am looking forward to going this year. I'm SUPER new to Rogue Trader, I'm still slogging through the Core Book and trying to learn about the 40K Setting. We currently play WHFRPG 3rd and LOVE IT! So, now we want some Sci-fi.

My question is, for those of you who have been there, perhaps say last year, is there any RPG'ing going on?? Do they even sell FFG products at the vendors, or is this a strictly GW exclusive? I would love to sit in on a game if there is one to learn the play a little better. I'm local to Chicago, but I'm not finding a game here going on at the moment.

Plus, it would be nice to find some BFG pieces without having to wait a few weeks for them to come in to a GW store out of my way.

Thoughts??

If its anything like the UK Games Day, FFG will have a tiny little stall with a few bits for sale and some previews of upcoming products, but the staff on the stall won't deviate from a script or actually know anything about the products.

Well, being from Chicago, and having gone to Games Day last year, I can tell you that there was a significant FFG stand there, with probably 15 tables set up around it, though I don't recall if there was any RPG playing going on. It may have just been the board games out for demo. However, I know that they had their full line of RPG products for sale there. So hopefully that sheds a little light on your inquiry!
