Medium walkers and problems mounting the small machine guns

By TallDwarf, in Dust Tactics

My allied and axis medium walkers arrived today and I am having problems putting in the small machine gun for the Mickey and the Luther. The search light also does not fit the hole. Is there any easy fix for this?

On a related note: the side mounted weapons of my Hans are not very loose as I have been disassembling him for storage in the core revised box. Any tips for Axis side mounted weapons becoming too loose?

Thank you.

Take care and have a great day.

I just leave them off most of the tim but mostly becasue i travel alot. you can use a hobby knive to clear the holes if they are too smalll or have been painted over. for loose weapons i have used a small layer of super glue on the male end to give it more size, not bond it to the hull. others mod the weapons to attach with magnets.

To properly fit the allied gun, I'm afraid you need to drill a wider hole. I never had any problem with the searchlight, but if you do, drilling wider hole is the solution.

To make guns fit tighter, all you need to do is apply a couple of layer of paint to the pin, this will make it thicker and the fit tighter.

Thanks for the tips guys. I will give it a shot.

On a sidenote: stayed up until 1:10 am last night reading Diary of a Newbie painter (I've read bits before but last night I finished the thread). I don't/didn't have the passion to really paint my guys. I found instructions on BBG on how to apply a simply wash which I did and it really brought out the detail. My wife however is keen to paint so I am excited by that. I am in the process of ordering some vallejo paints from a distributor here in China. I may even start painting.

If my thread inspired you to try and paint your figures, then I'm very flattered.

And also, I'm terribly sorry. I hope someday you'll find it in your heart to forgive me... gui%C3%B1o.gif

I recommend magnetizing the 'weapon arms'. This makes the easier to paint and store away. there are many good how to articles on the net.
