Have they gone?

By Guest, in Deathwatch

So, do you think with the announcement of Only War, the last of the people who don't like Marines will have wondered off, and we can enter a new age of Space Marine appreciation untainted by the haters?

:0)

If you have to ask, then the answer is... not a chance. :P

In the Grim Darkness of the 41st Millenium, there is only hate...

Highly doubt it. They will still be somewhere lurking in the Deathwatch forums.

Hatred is the Emperor's greatest gift to humanity....

at least they can take female characters. should keep some of the insane happy, untill they read this topic ;) :P

But they will probably need to spit their activity and thus this forum is probalby, mind you "probably", going to get less of that stuff.

Nah. As soon as the next product gets announced they'll find something about it to complain about. And the next product. And the next one... and so on until the end of time. gui%C3%B1o.gif

Given that your definition of "Marine Haters" seems to be "anyone who doesn't share your vision of Space Marines as a freakish mixture of Dragonball Z and Entertainment Tonight ", then no, I don't think that we've gone.

ZING!! Wow, ye got all Spanish Inquisition, there...didn't expect that... demonio.gif

There's room for all interpretations....[why the hell am i bein' all moderatey?!] ....hell, i just learned that gw canon for squats is they once existed, but now they don't and they never did....?????....[i luv 1984 right-thinking]...so, i am sure that for all my grimdarkevilbastardliness, uberheroicgodliness is just as valid an interpretation (no matter how much it may vex me; and it doesn't, really, since the aim of the game is to create megaheroes...i just believe in torturing the utter hell out of them first).

Bit of a snarly topic to post, though.....can't all lovers of space marines just learn to get along...this is the Deathwatch after all: we are required to set aside our petty differences and work together in the Emprah's service....or do you deny faith in Him on Terra and cleave to your own path?? gui%C3%B1o.gif

We're losing some cohesion here, that much is for sure.

Welp, the only problem is that now that the anti-space marine hate has died down slightly, the OMG WHY NOT ELDAR!!! rage has started up... :P

Although grant you, I'd *love* for there to be rules for eldar characters in Rogue Trader, beyond just DE Kabalite...

Reading the Dark Eldar book right now. Want to play a Kabalite even more than before. It's going to be fun being the sinister back-stabbing alien, lurking in the shadows. I'll certainly keep the Seneschal on their toes.

Wait... Soul Reaver is out?

I wish!

It and First Founding are like the only two FFG books where I've ever really cared if they come out on time. Luckily there's still two and a half months in this quarter, for Soul Reaver to make its release date.

I've just been wanting to play a Dark Eldar so bad that I've pretty much thought my character out already, based on the Kabal I cooked up for my tabletop army. An entire clan from Saim-Hann who turned to the outcaste life of Corsairs to get away from the stifling atmosphere of the Craftworld. And they spent a little too long revelling in the wild side of their nature, 'devolving' (or evolving!) in to Dark Eldar and taking their place in Commorrach society. They have lots of Reaver jetbikes.

It's just best to ignore all haters of the things you like.

hence, why I still enjoy the thing I like!
