Within the Tricorn

By KMAC2, in Dark Heresy Gamemasters

I am running an ascension level adventure where the Throne Agents will 1-going to the Tricorn, and 2-later in adventure fighting the forces of another inquisitor in the secret vaults beneath the Tricorn.

Can anyone point me to good ideas or descriptions about the tone/mood/feel and security at the Tricorn,

And second I'm kinda stumped as to what security measures and defenses to have around the secret inquisition vaults and how to stat them up. Anyone have any suggestions?

(I have access to almost all books other than some adventure for all 4 of the so far released FFG 40kRPG lines if anyone care to point me toward any reference in books)

Thanks.

Oh man best question ever- if you want to know the EXACT details of the description, they are in Sandy Mitchell's "Innocence proves nothing"

It seems I always feel the need to answer these questions on my way out- I will post a better description upon my return but for now: the size of a town, several defenses lines (patrols on the walls, anti-air cannons and turrets) on the grounds, crowds of people and several small cells of Psykers, guards and technomats with bioscanners to detect mutations, corruptions, etc etc that scan you when you walk around.

After that, massive gates big enough to fit three chimeras with an indentation on the floor that extends for a meter and a half or so [at first they don't realize what it is, but then they find out its ANOTHER game] and standing on either sides two larger then life "space marine" looking statues in power armor [sororitas] You later find out each tower has a guard made up of its elite unit [death watch and grey knights] with the Ordo Malleus tower being the most restricted.

Inside the Ordo hereticus tower, not counting the murder-holes to drop spike and oil on those people who try to cross the gate, there's an intricate pattern of mosaics on the floor that gives nosebleeds if you stare at it too long and its designed to make witches (and unsanctioned psykers) ill.

That's about it! Obviously the book is a bit more detailed, but those two books in the series are an excellent source for any DH DM if only because they are actually set in the Calaxis Sector.

Hope that helped.

You can also check out Reasons excellent "Sibellus Noir", which describe parts of the Tricrorn if I recall correctly.

And even if I don't it's still worth a read :)
