Game Quest?

By KaryQuebec, in Descent: Journeys in the Dark

Does the game is intented to be played has a continious game or a Quest by Quest game?

Continuious game mean that you keep all the conquest point, money and items from Quest to Quest so that your hero would be stronger and stronger.

Quest by Quest mean you restart your hero like a new game with the 300 GP from the start.

The basic game is quest by quest. The Road to Legend expansion provides a ruleset for continuous play. I highly recommend it. I never really got into the basic game, but am having a blast with RtL.

Check out the basic campaign rules in the original rulebook. Heroes still lose all their treasure and upgrades, but if you play a 2nd quest with the same heroes, you get a bit more cash to start with.

To be honest though, I dont think it is worth bothering with - just play all the quests from JitD, AoD, WoD, ToI as one-off individual games.

Yeah, if you try to play the quest one after the other, the heroes are going to step all over you after a short while, as most quest have gold items. So as it was already said, get the road to legend expansion for stuff like that. My group and I played it for about 6 months before finishing , and we had a blast every time, because it changes every time, when you adjust the OL deck to get the better of the heroes.
