How much for an unpainted Core Set?

By Pedro Lunaris, in Dust Tactics General Discussion

Guys, I'm all doubts right now. I'm wanting to get into the game, but it seems it doesn't have such a great starting point as it used to. I have the chance of getting the original Core Set, but it would cost something around $ 180 and 200. I'm asking myself: do you think it's too expensive, considering what the game offers right now to someone wanting to start from scratch?

I just want to add that the "unpainted" is just for clairification, as I would enjoy to paint the minis myself I wouldn't be looking for a painted version anyways. So for it to be unpainted is not an issue to me.

Thanks in advance!

I would say its not worth it. they can be found for around 100 from both physical and online sources. also this is assuming you live in north america. ill post a link when i can get to a desktop.

I would apreciate the links very much, thank you!

I cannot find anything at retail at the moment but there is a set on ebay for 135. Also I saw 1 at Millennium games in Rochester, New York for 100$ last time I was there about a month ago.

Are you sure those low prices are for painted set Dak? I though the guy was also looking at painted sets for 180-200? Just checkin,g for that price I may get one myself.

No, those are unpainted sets, which is what the guy is looking for.

Thanks, Dakkon. Actually I'm from Brazil, but I have a cousin who is in the US and I hope she can bring the box to me when she comes back.

I sent an email to Millenium Games, let's see if they still have the box.

One of the offers I had seen previous to creating this thread was the ebay 135 offer. With shipping costs to Brazil, that price would raise to 205 the least. It's a bother... But inside the US it would be 155 or something like that. I'm wondering if you think that price is worth for the original Core Set (unpainted and unopened)?

Nice to see a fellow Brazilian around here.

Be aware that there's a good chance you might have to pay a hefty customs fee in order to get your hands on your box, which could increase the final price considerably.

Yes, I'm aware of that, being a gamer consumist. :] That's one of the reasons I'm eager to get shipping cost as low as I can, because they actually charge taxes for shipping as well as the product price. That's so lame!

Gladly I have a cousin in the US who I hope can bring the Core Set to me, what probably will avoid taxation. And Book Depository dot UK has a lot of Dust Tactics, and they don't charge for shippment. That's really the most awesome thing I discovered in 2011. :]

Yeah, I got one of my core sets from Book Depository. Was lucky enough that it didn't even stop at customs.

Hi guys-

I just got a NIB original core set from Phoenix Games (in Florida) last week for $99 + shipping.

They had 2 left and I got one of them, so there is a chance they still have one in stock.

Courtesy of Board Game Geek I discovered the product ID for this was FFGDT001. I used that for my web search and came across stock at this particular store. Best of luck tracking one down, they do exist and I have to say that it was definitely worth what I paid!
