What sets do I need?

By Netace, in 4. AGoT Deck Construction

Hey all,

My friends and I are lookign to get into this, and we just don't really know where to start. Some guidance on which chapter packs are best for each house would be very helpful in buying intelligently, so we don't feel we've wasted our initial money on cards that don't do much for us. Don't need a full breakdown, but a recomendation on the two most useful packs to add to the core set for each house (obviously not greyjoy or Martell) would be greatly appreciated.

respectfully,

netace

If for whatever reason that link didn't work, it's a sticky in the "General Discussion" forum.

Martell: Well, there is Of Snakes and Sand and A Poisoned Spear is pretty good, too. You don't need much for martell, it is so good already.

Stark: Tourney for the Hand is really good, it gives you two amazing cards. Ancient Enemies gives you bear island, which kills a character without attachments (assuming you have all stark cards on the field). Team it up with building season (core).

Baratheon: Baratheon really hasn't had any good cards recently. Tower of the Hand is good, since it gives you a good version of Robert, but he had a recent errata.

Targaryen: Trial by Combat and Where Loyalty Lies are good

Greyjoy: Where Loyalty lies, Tourney for the Hand.

Lannister: Where Loyalty Lies gives you good military and power, so does Mountains of the Moon.
