Greyjoy and Martell Sets, Playing the Game with Many Players.

By CartooN, in 1. AGoT General Discussion

Hi all, I'm totally new to the AGoT card game. I had a look at the New Players thread but it answer some of my rather specific questions. I just bought the core set, I've played the game with two players once now and its pretty interesting, took a little while to get a hang of how the game plays but its great.

Anyway, my first question. I'm looking into getting the Greyjoy and Martell sets so that I will have all the possible houses playable. I'm not necessarily looking for decks that are extremely competitive or top tier, just something that will add the options for those houses and that play well with the core set. I assume for this that the best option would be to get "Kings of the sea" and "Princes of the sun" but I'm not sure if that's the case.

Which sorta brings me to my next question. The reason I want all the houses available is because I want to play the game with a lot of people at once. I've seen some videos on youtube that show how multiplayer works but I'm wondering how the game works with up to six players, or even if the game is worth playing with that amount. Does anyone have any personal experience with playing the game with a large amount of people?

Thanks for any help anyone can give :) .

Yeah, your next stop should be kings of the sea and princes of the sun. If you want the core set houses to match up in power level, you may want to add a few chapter packs or get another core set or two.

The usual melee games I play with friends involves a 4-6 player affair: I usually play a team of 2v2v2 for the 6 player melee (usually with board and titles thrown in).

Thanks for the reply

How do team games work exactly? Does each player have a house and they team up with someone else or do you split a deck/house between two players?

The 2v2 team rules is from the AGoT rulebook: each player needs his/her own house deck and you need to collectively gain 30 power for your team to win.
You apply the same conditions for the 2v2v2 team rules.
