Smithy and Artscow

By Zozimusque Romanus, in Talisman Home Brews

So I finally put together a Smithy deck, to go with the revised Village we use. Here are the results - let me know what you think! I made a deck of mini cards at Artscow, with 6 copies of each card. It cost only $8.99, and I'm hoping that the white borders of the cards can be trimmed to get a Talisman-sized deck. We'll see; I'll report when they get here. While I was there, I also made a bunch of small coin purses and a pencil case to hold gold, fate, and Dragon scale tokens. I'll post pictures when they arrive as well.

First, the Revised Village: village%2520revisited%2520copy.jpg

Now the Smithy Cards:

What? Artscow is now doing mini-euro cards?

The dimensions seem to be 2" by 2.5", but if you put a Strange Eons-made Talisman card on the template, it seems like the white borders on the edges might be trimmable to get the normal Talisman card size. I'm going to give it a try, anyway, and see how it goes. The deck I put together won't have to be shuffled with the rest of the decks, so even if it doesn't work perfectly, it won't be a waste of time. I'll update when I get them.

Ah, I see. I'll look forward to hearing how it goes... perhaps with some snapshots?

Now I'm also wondering if maybe a deck of such could be taken to a local printshop to be chopped all at one by trimning a designated amount off the two long sides. If memory serves, euro-minis are 1 5/8 x 2 1/2?

That's a good notion. Surely they must have some industrial-sized paper chopper that could serve. I'll do some digging around and find out about that too. Pictures when my shipment comes in :)
