War Crests

By Dain Ironfoot, in 1. AGoT General Discussion

Since my fav site for searching for cards is down...what cards take advantage of the War Crests? How about any of the crests (I'm a new player and haven't really seen any of the crests play a major role).

Thanks!

Die By the Sword and Price of War are the two most common, they are events that kill a character and discard 2 locations, respectively. There are a couple houses that have war crest specific cards, most commonly played are Pike Phalanx from Targaryen and Frozen Outpost from Stark. Also the plot Power of Arms gives the ones you control +2 strength, and you can play 2 in your plot deck. There are more, I'm sure, but that's off the top of my head.

Randyll Tarly gives +1 to all of your War Crest characters.

Daemon Blackfyre gives the War Crest to all of your Targ characters.

Other than those mentioned above...you have:

To start off, the Ocean Road (Neutral location) that reduce war crested char.

Along with the aforementioned ♦Daemon (Targ char), you got Rumors of War (Martell event), ♦Jon Snow (Stark char), Old Bear's Crow (N), Jack of All Trades (N), Bloodrider's Arakh (Targ attach), ♦Nightfall (GJ attach), and Driftwood Crown (GJ attach) each can grant war crests on characters. All the while Bara's Veteran Knight, temporarily remove war crests from opponent's participating chars.

Fremen...err Free Man (Neutral Wildling...I mean Wilding) will stand a war crest char when leaving play. Distinct Mastery (N event) also stands war crest char.
Faceless Man (Neutral) will get buff from war crested char.
Mercenary Contract (Targ attach) buff war crest char into a MIL non-kneeler.

You can pay for Assertion of Might (GJ event) or Lion's Law (Lanni event) by kneeling a war crest char.

Wow Ruvion, thanks for the extensive list! I wasn't familiar with Faceless Man, certainly worth consideration for my Greyjoy deck that almost always has a War and Noble crested character in play. Under those circumstances he would be 3 gold for a 4 strength tricon. His Learned crest is also always welcomed for use with Maester Wendamyr.

+1 for the Faceless Man. I lurve that card, it's not something you build your deck around, but if you have a decent crest spread it's a nice addition.
