The last picture from azoic(peter) is the best choice i think.

Color background is good. I also like the corners of the card.

Indeed, the background for Peter's card is a cut from the left and right panes of a character card melded together and reduced to fit... from what I can see. I use this approach as well, once.

Obviously with the Apprentice Mage, the Book of Spells and the staff she is holding are pretty close to the card border. But is there a small amount of room left to increase her size?!

It can be made whatever size you wish, but the problem is that not all characters have the same "shape". Some are long and others are more square...

Okay, so in closing, I have tweaked the newer design a little so that the title scroll is in the same position as Peter's version so you have the option of using one or the other.

As with most tokens, it will be made of a sandwich of background, image and overlay.

Awesome, Jon! Great idea to offer up both templates. And people can insert their art at whatever size they want.

These new Tokens looks great! As im new to Strange Eons im just wondering if these new Tokens - when they are done - will be included in Strange Eons somehow? As a plugin? or how does this work?

It's all part of the Talisman plug-in, which is still being tested a little, but is probably nearly there.

I like the frame. The braiding is too much, as is the talisman, and I miss the character title, since sometimes that's easier for me to spot on the board than the image. (That's just me, as my reading glasses don't have right range down the long dimension of the board/table… another reason why figurines don't work for me either.)

I agree with the Talisman as it does looked like it's just been plonked there. I did think about adding a grey Talisman instead which stands out less, but will probably just leave it out.

The braiding will have to stay as it forms part of the frame (and I like it!) I wanted something a bit more fancy that plain bars so I pinched the graphic from the rulebook for The Dragon!

For my purposes I will probably not use a scroll or similar for a name, and they will just be images. If I like this one enough to add it to SE I will probably add it somewhere, though I will have to think of a way that makes it blend in to the frame more.

Chances are I will have another brainstorm again soon anyway and will end up not using this template at all! We shall see.

Yep, I would agree with Elliot and say your earlier ones at the top of the page were great.

Ohh…. I dunno. I'd be curious to maybe see the title box for the third of the first set as option on this new fame. Ya know, a nice on/off setting in the template for us fussy over the hill types who need labels.

Strangely though, I like new frame better with the Sorceress in it.

After three months of being mad busy I have returned once again to templates.

I tried a couple of banners/scrolls for names on the newer design, but they didn't look quite right.

I have reverted to the older design, which is simpler and a tad classier I think, and updated the scroll with a textured font (maybe not to everyone's taste) and altered a few aspects of it slightly. It seems to look okay…

Not sure what happened to my post yesterday, but as you might see in the above post I have reverted to the plain font though have stuck with the bevelled scroll and character image.

I made a few examples and my panel of experts have chosen the above, so I shall now stop tinkering!

The character standees will be available to download from Talisman Island as soon after the official release of The City as I can manage.

Funagain Games have confirmed that their copies will arrive on January 25th. They were originally due January 18th, but one week delay. That means hopefully my copy will be in the UK by January 31st (up to 3 business days, not including 26th-27th as weekend). Just in time for me to take it to the Conception Games Convention!!!
