Edge of darkness characters

By ReaperOfTheLost, in Dark Heresy

Hello all, so I'm going to be running a group of friends through a few demo games of dark heresy. We've played rogue trader in the past, but they always ended up just beating up gangs on the streets anyway and seem o care much for space fairing or intergalactic politics.

Anyway, reading through the edge of darkness PDF and it mentions some supplied characters from the site, but I could not find any, is it intended that we jut use the characters provided frothe demo adventure

Edit: ok I get it now. This sup was written before ffg took over. The characters mentioned are at the end of the original b&w version. Well how do people feel about this adventure and the characters included? Is it a good starter adventure or is something else recommended?

I've run it as a starting adventure for 6 (or less, depending on if everyone arrived ;) ) characters with 500 starting XP. I must have underestimated my characters, as even with slight buffs for the opposition they didn't have any serious problem until the final battle (which also involved a pretty hilarious molotov cocktail throw). Then again, they did have some pretty good luck with the investigation and stormed the place before the antagonists were aware of just what's happening and prepare accordingly. Characters with guns with basic ammo may struggle a bit against the snatchers, but hey, there's a reason why stuff such as shotguns, mono-weapons (or Cthulhu help you, mono great weapons), grenades, manstopper bullets, overcharge lasgun packs, and oh, by the way, armour exists.

Generally I'd say it's a pretty decent starter adventure. It might help if you know just what the party is and adjust so it's around their challenge level (something that I, as a newbie DH game, did not quite do) and think of ways their skills and abilities can be useful beyond what the adventure states. I haven't tried it with the starting characters, but I'd say a decent party of 3-5 acolytes should be able to handle it.
