::Zangief::

By Traamros, in UFS Deck Building

Ok here is a deck that i have together that should do good and for some reason it always falls short. The wining condition is a Turn kill as long as i have the particular cards in hand. will explain shortly. I am loosing a lot particularly to Chun-Li, Lizardmen, and Zi Mai.

Runs of Death and Void

Character: 1

::Zangief:: 6/6 (Earth,Death,Void) 5HSZ 33Vtly E Commit 1 foundation: Atck get +X dmg. X double the # of attacks in cardpool, If deals dmg opponent commit 1 foundation.

Assets: 12

4X 3/6 Lynnette's Shop (infinity) +1M

4x 3/3 Seal of Cessation (Infinity) +2L

4X 0/6 Olcadan's Mentoring (Infinity) +0L

Foundations: 40

2X 3/4 Hulking Brute(Death, Earth) +2H

2X 2/5 Oral Dead (Death) +1L

2X 3/4 Instant Sucess (Death)

2X 2/4 Charismatic (Death) +2H i need to get another in deck

4X 1/5 Aquakinesis (Void) +3H I need to get 2 more

4X 3/5 Come through in the clinch (Earth, Void) +3H

4X 0/4 Saikyo-Ryu (Death, Void) +3H

4X 2/5 The Ways of Punishment (Earth, Void) +0H

4X 2/5 La Superba (Death) +1M

4X 4/4 No Memories (Death,Void) +3M

4X 2/5 Unorthodox Training (Death, Void) +2M

4X 2/5 Familial Loyalty (Void) +2M

Attacks: 8

4X 6/3 4M6 Kuzuryu Reppa (Void) +1H

4X 6/3 3H6 Spinning Beat ( Void)

Ok in my winning turn i need to have at least 1 La Superba hopefully 2 out which lets me put 2 cards from my staging area to my momentum (one of my problems at the moment, since it takes 2 possibly 4 foundations away). Then i play Reppa multiple one and drop Beat since it requires at least 2 attacks before it. Beat multiple 2 enhance with Zangief each multiple Beat for 4M16, 4M16, 4M16 for the win. Problem i have is, sometimes i dont have momentum or if i do la superba then might not have enough to check an 8 for Beat. Also if the opponent starts messing my my board which normally is what happens. Then is harder to pull off my combo. The Deck looks like a winner but so far i have had dissapointments. The 5 hand size does not help at all. Any suggestions?

Ok, my 2 cents.

For a 5HS character, you can't afford to play foundations that require to discard cards as an activation cost. I mean, Saikyo-Ryu and Inhuman Perception should be taken into careful consideration, despite their native power. Next, you might want lots, and I mean *lots*, of card drawing. Aquakinesis and Hulking Brute are nice, and Abelia's Frienship should help you to stall into the long game, where you should be ahead on the game. Huge Wrestling Army? I'd try to make place for those and test it. Let us know about your improvements with the deck.

nokto.-

Blinding Rage.

... imo?

Though I agree with the inhuman perception statement. Maybe SoC's would help you more, I'd try that out. The Inhuman just seems like overkill for something that seems to screw with your hand. More card draw seems to be a good answer.

do you own any white gi's?

If not you should get some they are good for momentum generation and do it every turn plus when you run out of cards on your opponents turn you can draw 4 cards off of it

Ok i took Inhuman out and added No Memories forgot about those. I do not own White gi's but it would be the perfect card in my staging area. I do have some Abelias and Huge Army's going to check them out.

just bought a set of white gi's that is the card i need for sure since it covers 2 aspects of my problem

glare from the abyss could be a really good card

all i'm missing at the moment is the 2 aquas and 1 spinning beat. However i'm still having issues beating Chun li with the second form play a card specially when the card is a ridiculous attack. Also lizardmen is an issue to beat as well.

Selfless Giving

Matches both of your symbols

1/5

Block

E commit ability gives you card to discard for damage redux, readies a foundations of your opponents to increase the damage reduced, and you could care less about the attacks speed because your reducing and not blocking.

Combines really will with kens shotokans action side as a momentum nuke.

This card is a WIN for zangief.

As far as the chun li match goes, for the most part it takes sheer speed to beat her which means card advantage. So the more card advantage you get into your deck the better off you might be against her.
