with regionals and the moonboy classic just around the corner what are some of the suprising archtypes that people expect to see in the competitive field. im expecting a suprise comeback from wildlings since the errata on blood of the first men the question is which house it will come out of stark or greyjoy? and any other decks that people are expecting to see a surprising victory for regional season?
The Regional Season and what we expect
I'm glad you asked that! I posted some thoughts on potential deck builds here. Look for more articles on CardgameDB in the coming weeks for our Regional Coverage on what to expect, as well as post tournament analysis.
yes i liked your article on surprisng archtypes that we expect to see play in regionals so i did this post to maybe get a few decklists going and someother things that people should be looking out for
I would like to extend the expectations to melee too. What archetypes do you expect to see in melee? is bara nobles going to be more or less represented then bara knights? are there going to be maesters decks in melee?

How many of the Regional events have melees?
I don't know but last year there were some right? Will won 1 with a greyjoy unoposed deck...it's in the FFG support segment
Yes, last year both the Minnesota and Missouri Regionals had melee portions. I won the Minnesota event and placed at the final table in Missouri.
hate to nitpick here (actually i love to nitpick but thats a diff post), but you cannot EXPECT to be SURPRISED by something, since by definition a SURPRISE is something that you DO NOT EXPECT.
That being said, carry on.
I beg to differ. You can expect to be faced with something that you did not account for since you were unable to imagine it. If you were sent to 1000 years in the future you could expect to be surprised by the technology because it would be beyond your imagination.
Just because you 'know' that you will see something 'unknown' does not qualify that 'unknown' as a surprise. What you are then dealing with is something called a 'Known Unknown', whereas a surprise is an 'Unknown Unknown'.
And for the record, the dictionary definition of a surprise is "a completely unexpected occurrence".
edit to make bomb laugh:
"I win and my ideas are outstanding."
Hmmmmm. You win this round, Dennis.....
