Cards with same title?

By leapleyc, in 2. AGoT Rules Discussion

Ok guys, this may be a stupid/dense question, and I think I know the answer, but I just want to make sure.

I am noticing that as I expand my collection many cards are made with the same name (e.g. "Eddard Stark")...and the two different cards have different abilities/effects.

I assume that the newer "version" of the card does not invalidate the old, correct? So you could play with two different Eddard Stark cards with two different effects, correct?

Along the same lines, could both of these cards be in play at the same time even if one is limited? They have the same title but are different cards, right?

Or am I wrong.

Sorry for the "noob" questions, I am just now getting into this game more than merely casually participating.

Thanks!!

You can have up to 3 cards with the same title in your deck - they could be different versions if you like!

You can't, however, have multiple versions of Eddard in play at the same time . The little flag next to his name means that he is "unique", and thus you can only have one copy in play at a time.

You can use the second one you get as a duplicate to the first, regardless of version. But only the text of the one you played first applies. You'll find the detailed rules for unique cards and duplicated at the end of the Core Set rules.
