Which one to choose?

By Brednul, in Dust Tactics General Discussion

Hello,

I manage to expand my DT collection.

But I just don't know what to do. What I am trying to have is two balanced armies (axis and allies) to play like a boardgame...(so that my other partners don't have to buy an army to play with me)

I have the OCS, the command squads, the special ops and artillery, the RCS and the Tank busters.

To get the balance right, I don't know if it's better to take OZZ 117+Grim Reapers and Markus+Gorillaz or take the Allies heroes pack+Red devils and Axis heroes pack+Zombies.

I've heard that the zombies are overpowered, and Axis have already Lara and her Flak who are very strong...So, I don't know what to do, add Ozz and the grim reapers to counter Lara or take the heroes packs and both red devils and zombies? Which one could bring balance to my DT collection do you think?

Thanks for the answers!

I am by no means a DT expert, having only played a few games with my RCS and now thinking about how to expand. But I'd say take the hero packs plus the 2 matching squads. The 6 heroes will give you several good options for army building, while you have only 2 heroes and fewer options with Markus and OZZ.

I wouldn't worry about any rumours about any one unit being overpowered as its all situational, I think Oz and Reapers are overpowered but only if used right. You have a points system, just use that to balance your forces and buy whatever you like the look of. If I were you though, I'd get the light walkers for both sides to add in that something a bit different. These can be oufitted as anti-tank or anti-personel so will also give you a good tactical choice.

I've got the RCS and have already some light walkers in it.

My idea was to buy Seelowe + Grim Reapers+Gorillas OR The heroes packs+Red Devils+Zombies.

And I don't know what to do to keep my two armies well balanced.

The seperate light walkers are completely different though and I just love the quad gun anti-infantry versions. But as said before, just buy what you like the look of the most and use the points system to keep it balanced.

As I said before, I am also thinking about buying new DT troops, and I would certainly NOT buy units just because I like the way they look. I rather read about good units or combination of units here on the forums and look at the stat cards that are shown here or on www.dust-models.com. That's a way to find balanced units or units that have certain abilities that my troops lack.

And as I also said before: I think you should choose the hero packs. I had the chance to buy Operation Seelöwe quite cheap and I think OZZ and Markus are great heroes, but the hero packs just offer you more army building options.
