Multi-traited attachments on Cards that allow only specific traits.

By AceManUSC, in 2. AGoT Rules Discussion

As an example, I want to put R'hllor's Blessing on the Fiery Followers .

Is this legal, or does the attachment have to have only that one specific Boon trait in order for it to be legal to attach to the character?

The attachment's identity as a Boon attachment is in no way diluted by the fact that it also has the Condition attachment. Think of the cards with more than one House affiliation. The fact that Brienne has the Stark affiliation doesn't make her any less of a Baratheon character when something refers to "Baratheon characters only." Similarly, if a card says to choose and stand a Knight character, you cannot say it is illegal to choose Jaime Lannister because his traits make him a Lord or a Kingsguard in addition to a Knight. Same deal here.

So long as the attachment has the Boon trait, it is considered a Boon attachment, no matter what other traits it may also have. So something that is both Boon and Condition can go on a " Boon attachment only" character - and discarded by a "discard a Condition attachment"

Thanks for clearing that up. I hate how after I read your explanations, I feel like an idiot, lol.

The biggest thing I've been noticing based on a lot of questions recently is that people seem to expect there to be some hidden meaning or secret interaction. They expect the game to be a lot more complicated than it is. That's really all a question like "does it count as a Boon attachment if it also has the Condition trait?" is. People know the answer, but they can't believe it really is that straightforward. It's AGoT; they figure there's got to be something they're missing. So they ask, then find out the answer is what they thought it was to begin with.
