So I don't know... well, anything about WFRP ogres apparently. Why do they only have the one starting career option?

Ogres come from the Mountains of Mourn. Some of them are afflicted by a bad case of wanderlust and leave the Ogre Kingdoms and explore the world. It is these ogres that end up in the Empire.

Named after the Ogre mercenary Golgfag Maneater the Ogre Maneater is a wandering mercenary that will work for whoever pays so that can develop skills that will serve them on their return to the Ogre Kingdoms. Obviously once in the empire many stay for years and so will be free to move to other careers.

I am looking forward to having one in my party. I think that they would present a lot less problems in social situations than, say, a troll slayer (or a zealot). The ogre may be monstrous but they want something everyone can understand (food and money) so they will fit into more situations than a suicidal dwarf.

Yeah, there would be other Ogre careers back in the Ogre kingdoms... but those aren't the kind of ogres who go travelling to the Empire.

And since it is your game, you can have your ogres start with any careers you like.
