Space marine skill

By Ravensburg, in Black Crusade Rules Questions

Has anyone else noticed that marines get aquatic as a starter?

this seems very odd as it involves breathing water. I know they have the third lung which can filter just about any atmosphere but seriously? Water?

never heard of marines (trator or otherwise) breathing underwater without armour.

Anyone else thought this is a bit odd?

"The Multi-lung has highly efficient toxin dispersal systems and will also allow an Astartes to draw oxygen out of water, allowing him to breathe in marine environments as if he had gills."

Fair enough. Just struck me as a little odd going by all the marine books I can think of.

Also it dose not give aquatic in Deathwatch just resistance to gas toxins.

Some consistancy would be nice.

Anyone else got any thoughts on this?

I felt that marines were under powered to start with in Deathwatch, whilst starting legionnaires in Black crusade feel about right. As a lot of the content and minds behind the products are shared from line to line, i see it as a natural evolution of marines and would retro-actively simplify Deathwatch marines with a lot of the talents and traits from Black Crusade.
