First off I want to say that my group and I are not new to the card game scene but Im still trying to learn more about the "Living Card Game" aspect. We have a group of at least 4 that would want to play. I see people state that if you want 3-4 to play you need to get 2 core games. Could I instead get 1 of the core games and a few of the other smaller scenarios? will those work to start?

Also what do I need if I want to get started? Recommend just the core or core and other stuff?

One last question. Are these standard card sizes (Magic the gathering size) or European size (Dominion size) if I wanted to buy sleeves to sleeve it up?

1. One core set is fine.

2. To start the game one set is fine. If you like it, go and buy more.

3. Standard size.

4 players using a single Core set will make it difficult to use multi-sphere decks as you'll be short of cards (at least if you want to play following the minimal 50 cards tournament rules). Players will be fighting over a lot of the "staple" cards (for example, if 2 players want to use leadership, who will get the Sneak Attack if you only have 2 copies of the card).

Each AP gives you 2 cards for each sphere (3 copies of each) plus a neutral card. You'll need a lot of AP to match the number of cards you get out of the Core set.

I'd strongly suggest buying 2 Core right away if you really intend to provide a good enough pool for 4 players. After that, look at the player cards you need (based on player preferences) and go for AP in the order that will give you the right cards.
