Regional - Ottawa Canada - May 19 - close to NY and ME meta's

By darknoj, in 1. AGoT General Discussion

I am happy to announce the first and only this year Canadian regional. It is taking place in are countries fine capital (Ottawa, Ontario) Joust on May 19th. Game of Thrones the living card game competitors will match their decks and wits in a epic battle in the center of the city at Rue 715 Cooper Street on the floors of the majestic Rideau Curling Club.

Not only would participants coming from out of town get a chance to play some great thrones but since the events is during a large gaming convent ( http://www.cangames.ca/ ) their will be many other things to see and do.

We are not that far from several of the other NY regional events that will be taking place in fact we are less then a four hour drive from Rochester, NY and less then a nine hour one form NY NY (bus both ways for less the 150). I am hoping we will see a few faces from these Metas. (if anyone is coming in from their...let know as I would be able to suggest nice cheap logging etc...)

The event will start at 9am sharp. Players should arrive 30 min before to check in and hand in their deck list.

The tournament will be a Joust only event. It will consist of four or five rounds of swiss depending on the number of participants which will end around 1pm. Their will be a cut to the top 8 which will begin playing again at 7pm. This will give people time to have dinner, play another game at the convention ect...

The cost is only the entry fee into CanGame which is 17 dollars if you only plan on attending for the Saturday. While the top 8 are playing their should be lots of room for players to play some casual matches of AGoT.

The organizer has change the event to be only a Joust on the Saturday May 19th. The twenty or so local players are not that into mellee now.. ;)

Here is some more info on the tournament.

It is nationally appropriate this is occuring in a curling club. I approve.

So far people from Montreal, Gatineau, Toronto and North Bay have told me their gone be driving down for this. We may get a good turn out if they all show up. ;)

I leave two weeks before and I come back two weeks after. :(

Since this is the only tournament in Canada the winner will recieve the "King in the North'' title and possibly a paper crown they can wear at GenCon.

My three year old daughter made the crown so its pure awesome, with little glittery gems, something the king in the north could be proud to wear…best first place prize anywhere…

Anyone from the USA thinking of coming up for this or will it be a all Canadian regional event?

For any information on the regional or questions you may want to send the organizer can help at [email protected]

cheers

Reminder it this Saturday….

I really wish I could go to this. Unfortunately I won't be able to make it. Can't wait to see a report, though.
