Why not selling miniatures unpainted?

By Drzodiacus, in Arkham Horror Second Edition

I'm a major AH horror fan and I'd love to have all the minis to the game. But at this price tag I just won't do it. Considering that some of us like to paint their minis (I even think I can do a better job) why not selling them unpainted, at a lower price?

I'm pretty shure you'd get lot more purchases.... Just my 2 cents...

Something tells me the paint isn't the bulk of the production costs. If the whole wave was $5 cheaper, would that make the difference between you purchasing them and not?

I don't think it's the cost of the paint, but rather the process of having them painted that's expensive. I think they probably would be much cheaper unpainted.

I agree I’d also like the option of unpainted miniatures as I like to paint my own, it helps my stress levels. If it is unlikely that FF will release unpainted versions could they let us know what paint has been used so we can safely strip them without ending up with a blob of molten plastic.

Normal people scare me, but not as much as I scare them.

I can't believe that simply producing the plastic minis unpainted accounts for most of the price point! Come on FFG! Some of us love to paint our own minis. Even if the paint job accounts for 1/3 of the price I'd be much more inclined to buy unpainted. The only thing I could understand holding back release of unpainted minis is that future MoM releases will complete the set. If that's the case, count me in! But at the rate of minis we've seen in the MoM expansions so far it's going to take a while. I won't hold my breath. (Except for when I'm painting the really fiddly bits!). :-)
