Impact trough enormous strengh?

By Chameleon2, in Anima: Beyond Fantasy RPG

Hi everyone,

my question is if there are any rules regarding an attack by someone with enormous strengh (for example a giant with strengh 14), and his attack is blocked by someon with much lesser strengh (for example a human with strengh 6). The blocking character should get at least a bit damage and be pushed a few feet, because of the pure strengh of the impact the attacker does, even when the defensive roll his higher than the attack roll. I have searched the core rulebock and the Dominus Exxet rulebock but only found the rules for impact trough Ki, magic or psychic abilities. Are there any official rules for the situation mentioned above? Thanks in advance for your help.

I am sorry for the clumsy language, but i am from germany and this is my first forum entry ever sonrojado.gif

Ya, there is a table on page 16 or so of Dominus Exxet, I do not have my book with me so I can not be sure. It is just before causing earthquakes with high strength.

Thanks for your reply, the table you mentioned is for impact trough ki, magic and psychic abilities, and the damage they cause by sending the defender flying a great distance. I guess i could adjust the table to use it for impact through a heavy smash of a strong creature, but i thought theire might be something like that already in the official rules.

I don't see a reason, why you don't use the table for the impact of a very strong creature.

Natural, if some humans clash weapons, with "normal" strength, they would only move some meters or so, so you don't need a rule for "send flying, because of a heavy impact", but if the creature is strong enough to send someone flying, I would use this table (perhaps with some modifier, like the example with the strength 5 impact and the dragon).

So long,

I don't feel that impacts should be cause just by having a high strength. If you're looking to make a giant ogre knock people back, make the impact thing a monster power, charge a few DP to it, make it happen on all his attacks (note only attacks that successfully hit cause impacts, if a PC parries or dodges, he never suffers an impact no matter what the source or power used is)

maybe like 20 DP for impacts of STR 6 Gnosis 0 and 200 DP for impacts of STR 20 Gnosis 35 and everything in between.

I noticed the rule on page 6 of the Core rule book that talks about Characteristic checks between opponents with large differences in their scores. I didn't see anything on combat. I would rule that if you were fighting a giant and you parried its blow then you wouldn't suffer automatic impact damage. I would make the assumption that you deflected his strike to the side enough that it didn't crush you. If the giant creatures weapon was so large that it would cover a great area, I would go with an area attack.
