Bravos, Pentos..... and?

So, the new multi-affiliated kingdom cards are going to let you run a specific kind of card out of house for effectively no gold penalty.

One less for the first OOH of that house each round
One less for the first of that trait each round.

So far we've seen Stark / Lady and Targ / Army, what do we think the other 4 will be?

They don't seem to be house specific traits so I'd guess it'll be safe to say we won't see Lanni / Clansmen or Greyjoy / Raider.

According to the article "Beyond the Narrow Sea Part 1", Norvos is at least one of the remaining 3 you mention. All we can see is "...reduce the cost of the next Lord character by 1...".

My guess on the OOH reduction is either Baratheon or Greyjoy.

The Santa Maria?

The only significant Norvoshi in the books are Martell, so I suspect its Martell. Norvos is also represented in game as a Martell card.

The Bara card is likely Lys (Salladhor Saan). The Lannister card could be Myr. The Greyjoy card could be Qarth to represent Euron's connection to the Warlock's. Volantis could be Greyjoy as well due to the connection with Moqorro.

Assuming norvos is Martell / Lord would that make the Bara one the Knight one? I'm trying to come up with 6 traits that are common to several houses but keep falling short.

Lord (Martell?)

Lady (Stark)

Army (Targ)

Creature is unlikely as we already have The Neck and you'd expect that to be Targ or Stark anyway.

Knight could be Bara or Lanni

Maester looks unlikely.

There are plenty of Allies so that could be one. Traitor and Mercenary less so.

Given that Asshai is spread among a couple of houses I'm going to go with:

Bara / Asshai

Lanni / Knight

which leaves Greyjoy / "could be anything"

So far the three traits we know will have reducers have all been ones that are seen in every house: Lady, Army, Lord. So it seems likely to me that Asshai is unlikely to be on one of the others fun and thematic it might be. Knight seems an unlikely trait to be tied to one of the cities there as well though as a common trait to all houses they could shove it in somewhere I suppose.

I'm thinking we might actually see some love for some normally negative traits. Ally and Mercenary perhaps? Stannis had Salador's fleet of mercenaries working for him, perhaps Bara/Merc? Ally could go with either Greyjoy or Lannister. Not a lot of other traits out there that are available in more than one house. Knight and maester, neither of which would seem to fit but who knows. Maybe Greyjoy/Creature. They are chasing Dragons after all and it could be used in any house to reduce raven cards as well as in Stark and Targ for Direwolves and Dragons respectively. Maybe a card that reduces location traits? Kingdom or Free Cities to help play others of the cycle?

I haven't gotten that far in the books, so if Norvos is thematically Martell, then that would make sense. It is strange though, because they have very few Lords compared to Baratheon, Greyjoy, and Lannister. I doubted it would be Lannister as they have other traits that are more likely.

The houses that are perceived as lacking in certain traits may get a bump in this cycle. Greyjoy used to be hurting for Noble Crests, not so after AToC is done. I agree the most thematically appropriate "bump" for all houses and keeping with the Essos idea is Mercenary. I am going to assume every house is going to see several characters with this trait and with locations, attachments, and event cards support. In the books, whenever a house needed supplemental men at arms, they would get them from the various Free Cities.

The tie could be to a specific character or group related to ADoD. Such as:

Braavos > Arya Stark > Lady and Stark

Norvos > Mellario Martell (and Doran, Oberyn, Quentyn, Tristane) > Lord and Martell

Pentos > The Golden Company > Army and Targ

If we have a highly house specific trait, the new location would allow for that trait to be used OOH for greater effect. Whilst I think Lys is a strong contender for Bara, having it reduce Mercenary might not work. They have only one currently and don't really try to deal with them in ADoD. Their new unique army is unlikely to be a Mercenary one (and likely a Knight one). Knight would still be the most useful even if the connections are tenuous:

Lys > Salladhor Saan (~ Ser Davos) > Knight and Bara
