Can the keeper or investigators win if the objective is not revealed yet?

By Puddingsnack, in Mansions of Madness

It's probably some where in the manual but I've forgotten it at a friends house.

Can the keeper or investigators win if the objective is not revealed yet?

If the objective is met (i.e. "the keeper wins if an investigator dies" and the keeper kills one off pretty quickly) do they win if the objective is not yet revealed?

No, it must be revealed. Keep in mind though that some objectives state you may reveal at any time, so you may want to check that. Therefore, the Keeper would reveal to then meet his quota.

I remember being puzzled about the same thing, but I think the objectives are always active, regardless of whether it is revealed.

When the investigators or keeper fulfills the winning condition listed
on this card, the keeper reveals the card (if it hasn’t already been
revealed), and the keeper reads the winning condition section of the
card aloud. The game then ends, with all players of the winning side
victorious! (Rulebook, p.16, Revealing the Objective, §3)

Hey!

Well, then it looks like I should start preparing myself a lot better when playing the Keeper; until now the few times I "Keepered" the game I just did the setup but did not thoroughly read all the special cards about each scenario ...

Again and again with FFG games: plenty of details ...

All the best!
