Is there a default CR for the natural attacks of monsters?

By murphzero, in WFRP Rules Questions

Had an encounter last night where a big monster had a slew of boons on an attack and was using a card that only had one boon effect.

I could have taken stress/fatigue off the big monster, but I spaced on whether or not a monster's normal attack had a default CR.

Improvised weapons have a CR of 4, i think - would that apply to monstrous attacks like claws or teeth? Is something defined anywhere?

Monsters do not have CR values.

Criticals are ingrained in their action cards, otherwise... no crits !

This said, their cards tend to have more Critical results than cards used by PCs...

As a Houserule, any tooth and claw attack should have a CR of 3, IMO, equal to a Hand Weapon.

They could also use Sigmar's Comets to trigger a critical wound (if they have any yellow dice in their pool).

I would do it just like Melee strike and make it either a 3 or a 4. I've gotten away from dependency on the creature action cards to tell me how to roleplay and reverted to more "descriptive" melee strikes..with crits also on a comet. I think the creature action cards are great and all, but they hold my fast-n-loose GM style back.

Best of luck,

You can also let monsters recover A/C with boons just as heros do Fatigue/Stress
