Help! I'm on Fire!

By Wolf in Space, in Dark Heresy Rules Questions

I'm currently playing in a game where we're lucky enough to have a guy playing a Redemptionist. He rarely gets ammo for his flamer. So far, he only gets off 1-2 shots a game. The problem is, he's set at least one fellow acolyte on fire in every game we've played.

This has brought some debate about the interpretation Fire fules.

So when (not if) he sets me on fire again, which group of options is correct?

A. I can run around screaming as a full action.

B. I can make a WP foll to act normally.

C? I can put myself out with a Hard Agility test. This is the one that causes the questions. Do I have to make the WP roll before I'm allowed to try to put ?myself out? If I make the WP roll, but fail the Agility roll, do I have to roll WP again next round to try to put myself out?

Thanks,

Flamer fires your way,
then you must make an Agi test to avoid being hit
if hit you take the flamer damage and make an Agi test to see if you catch fire
if catch fire you must each round make an agi roll to stop being on fire
if you fail to stop the fire you take 1d10 E damage ignoring armour and take 1 fatique and make a wp test to act normally
if you fail to act normally you run around screaming until next turn where you can try a new agi to put out the fire

you can also use an full action making a agi -20 test to put out the fire, or jump in water or something to put it out.

Have someone in your party carry a fire extinguisher...... gui%C3%B1o.gif

If it's such a common occurance, the acolytes have to have some sort of discussion to figure out how to minimize, ahem, friendly fire, whether it be demanding the user only resort to it in certain situations, having all characters carry some sort of portable fire suppressant, or even saying "I'm sorry, this thing is too dangerous for you to be using".

On the topic of player characters being set alight, I don't see a problem with allowing a player being allowed to spend a fate point to extinguish the fire, assuming you make it clear to them that this is an option only for when they're caught in friendly fire. Unless you don't mind allowing your players to be able extinguish themselves at the cost of a fate point, regardless of circumstances - GM's fiat, I suppose.

Well, depending on the character i was playing of course...

The first time this nutter set me on fire, there'd be harsh words.

He'd be left with a very clear understanding of future consequences. enfadado.gif

If he did it a second time, there'd be a serious blue on blue situation, which he wouldn't survive. gui%C3%B1o.gif

If i'm a combat PC he's getting a full auto salvo until he goes down.

If not, well, vengeance is a dish best served cold...
