Targaryen Deck Critique?

By Taljen, in 4. AGoT Deck Construction

So I just got the Core Set, Queen of Dragons, and Lords of Winter. So I've built a dragon-based Targaryen deck, and a Tully based Stark deck. Any advise or criticism would be appreciated, though I won't be able to substitute cards from outside the above 3 sets. Here is the Targaryen deck:

House Targaryen:

Agenda: Heir to the Iron Throne

Plot Deck:

Loyalty Money Can Buy

Mutual Blackmail

Noose and Swordpoint

Power and Wealth

Spending the Winter Stores

Take Them By Surprise

The Power of Arms

Characters:

Brown Ben Plumm

True-Queen's Harbinger (x2)

Black Hatchling

Green Hatchling

White Hatchling

Viserys Targaryen

Blue-Lipped Warlock (x2)

Hired Swords (x2)

Quaithe of the Shadow

Quartheen Fanatic

Captain Groleo

Daario Naharis

Jhogo

Daenerys Targaryen (QoD) (x3)

Drogon (QoD) (x3)

Rhaegal (QoD) (x3)

Viserion (QoD) (x3)

Locations:

Summer Sea (x3)

Temple of Graces (x2)

Eastern Fiefdoms (x3)

Khal Drogo's Tent

Crossroads

Great Pyramid

Kingsroad Fiefdom

Astapor

Quarth

Yunkai (x2)

Lady Daenery's Chambers

Events:

Field of Fire (x3)

Attachments:

Dragon Fear (x3)

Aegon's Blade

Bloodrider's Arakh (x2)

Crown of Meereen (x2)

Flame-Kissed

Shade of the Evening (x2)

Blood of the Dragon

Is it for joust or melee?

Using Take Them by Surprise outside of GJ can be dangerous because of Ahead of the Tide . I think you should add Meereen for the additional draw and get rid of the Crossroads. You could probably also lose one or two of the more expensive Core characters for some Horseback Archers since you have plenty of Influence available. Core Khal Drogo is always good and Blood of the Dragon is always bad .

Dumped Crossroads, Groleo, Daario, Jhogo, and Blood of the Dragon for 2 Horseback Archers, CS Khal Drogo and 2 copies of Mereen. What about Forever Burning? Is that a must have?

Also, I'm struggling to find a replacement for Take Them By Surprise. Both my LoW Stark Deck and my QoD Targaryen Deck are having a hard time finding good plot cards.

And it's for melee mainly, not joust.

I'd consider Counting Favors or Summoning Season since its Melee.

Forever Burning is five star card, but not an auto-include. Fits almost any Targ joust deck but can be left out of any deck that is low on Influence. Not as good for melee.
