That is a very interesting lore card. I don't know if I'd play it much, but with cards like Sleeping Sentry, I might change my mind. Those Treachery cards seem absolutely brutal!
It may seem good at first, but I am uncertain how effective it will be. For treachery cards, it is vastly inferior to A Test of Will. If you don't get the secrecy bonus, it seems like a highly overcosted card. I have trouble seeing how it makes into a deck.
With all those "cannot be canceled" cards I guess the new lore card will see some use.

i can see many uses- correct me if im wrong but it can remove anything from the deck that isnt objective or victory points- so how about taking out some of those bad enemies....or locations.....pair this with deck peeking cards such as rumour from the earth and you can look- then take away, you never have to have them in the staging area!

One of the major advantages of deck peaking is that you know exactly what to expect on your next turn (at least, in most solo situations, which is when deck peeking is most useful). This card forfeits that benefit. Id you didn't reshuffle after you played it, the card would be amazing. But as it you have to play a card, pay 1 to 3 resources, and take a huge chance. What are the odds that your next draw is better off after you play this? 50-%55% (ish?) You may very well be committing a fair amount of resources to make your situation worse than it was before you played the card.

In all sets thus far, there are three cards with that trait. One of them is dealt with far better by Mi ner from Erebor. There is scenario thus far where, as a single player, you would be likely to draw one of those cards in a five card pull, unless you went very deep into the encouter deck. If this card has any real use it will be incredibly niche.
[just another double-post, and I am not even sure it is my fault this time]

Of course it is early to tell but I disagree. I am not psyched about the card - I would rather see a nice cheap Lore Elven Ally (or Attachment) - but it can be of help. I for one do not scout the encounter deck that much but this can go with the stategy, not against it. I have had many cases when I found out something bad was going to happen and there was little to do about it. It can remove the terrible Lookout location in Osgiliath, the Drop in Moria, or this Sleeping madness.
You may be playing a lot solo and thus do not delve too deep into the encounter deck but for bigger parties, the chances are higher to have a much dwindled deck to pick upon.
ps: How do you fit Miner (from Iron Hills) to the deck? Is he not just about useless in more than every other quest?

im not sure if this is what you're meaning- but i use him as a back up to discard condition cards from play
Yeah, it all comes to this. I do not like to switch cards in a deck between quests. But I see it can be wise, and I see Miner can be good in those quests... But I also feel this Out of the Wild has more generic use in it.
yes i see what you're saying, despite opinions against it, im still phsyced for this card
I like the card. Being able to remove a potential threat from the encounter deck is great. If only you didn't have to shuffle the encounter deck. But, FFG saying the pack is coming out next week? That's my cue to pre-order!
I'll chime in here; Rich, I am also pretty excited about this card for the reasons that you mentioned already, though I am also a bit skeptical at the same time. Bohemond and lleimmoen, I see what you are both saying and you make a lot of sense. I especially wish, like you lleimmoen, that this was instead a cool cheap cost Lore ally, or even better in my opinion, a Lore attachment of any kind (perhaps this is coming as well though). Fingers crossed! Love the artwork as usual!
i know ive already said this, but is no one a bit mythed about the time of release? maybe in US its different, but redhorns still trickling through to other countries at the moment, and id have guessed it would have took about another 3 weeks for it to arrive......guess FFG's trying to get back on track
Yeah, that does seem fast by my account too. I have already picked up Redhorn though, however it seems strange that you have still not gotten a copy and that the new pack is due out so soon. I am happy to say the least, but not for your sake Rich. Perhaps you will get them both around the same time? That could be cool!

yeah wish it would work like that, uk gets it next couple of days, then i think we should get road to rivendell in maybe 2 weeks or so.....a
Forget Out of the Wild (which seems like a fun card)--look at that treachery! It's absolutely brutal. Just one more reason to use Eleanor. I do love the CotR cast, but they are dead wrong about her.

yeah that dude seriously needs some red bull, or at least a black coffee
As for the release (and I know I am in the wrong thread) someone informed thar Rivendell could be coming at the same time as Redhorn in some of these third world countries, like Central and Western Europe. I really wish it were true, here in Czech there is no sign of the Redhorn Pass (and we have got some nice mountains to climb over).
I wouldn't go as far as calling it an epic card, but I'd run it for sure, at least to try it. As it was said before, some cards cannot be cancelled (a Foe Beyond for instance, or this Drop card in Moria) and this might be just what is needed to get rid of them. Plus, if you run Denethor or use Henmarth Riversong, it becomes less of a gamble and more of a way to prevent what's to come.
As for the secrecy mechanic, I haven't tried it yet...I'm waiting for the card pool to grow a bit bigger.

id call that pretty epic...........but anyways only time and advenutre packs will tell its true use

Not only does this card not actively sinergize with Denethor, the two cards actively work against each other. Denethor takes bad cards and buries them at the bottom. Out of the Wild takes all of those cards you have carefully buried and reshuffles the whole deck. I have already stated that I don't think its an efficient card, but running it with Denethor is just shooting yourself in the foot.
yes but riversong or rumour from the earth looks and then thats it- what if you look and find sudden pitfall coming next round? could be a game saver
also this card REMOVES card from the game-whereas say you take and put one to the bottom with denethor- what if the deck gets shuffled through a card effect? it could be anywhere- but with this its worry free
i think this card has potential, no one else seems as psyched as me but thats fine...those are my guns and im sticking with em
