Ghaston Grey and Annoying Effects - 2G1T

By botounami, in 1. AGoT General Discussion

With all of the Ghaston Grey talk in AGOT currently, it felt only appropriate to have a little discussion about it on the recent Two Guys, One Throne podcast. But perhaps more importantly, a discussion on those annoying effects in AGOT!

You know...like kneeling your characters...or removing their icons...grr! It's just plain annoying!

Episode 9 can be found here, or on iTunes!

It was a good listen.

and a happy b-day, Steve!

I'd love to listen to the rest of the show, but I'm afraid there's some kind of technical error. I listen to quite a few podcasts as I drive, but the last half dozen episodes haven't worked right. When I stream, they generally fail after 20 minutes or so. When I try to download the entire file, it fails as well. I'd wonder if it was on my end, but the other 6-8 shows that I listen to regularly don't have any issues.

That said, I made it through the first 10 minutes or so of this episode before it stopped, and I'm intrigued. When we did our pack review when GG came out, I was in much the same boat, saying that the available nobles are too few and too expensive. Then I watched it in action and started using it myself. My opinion very quickly changed. Lol, though you can always check the old episode to hear my foolish initial reaction recorded for posterity. Suffice it to say, though, that I don't think it's no big deal any more.

Listened with no issues. Downloaded with Doggcatcher on android.

Am I the only person having issues? If so, it probably is on my end, but it just seems very odd to only run into the one show that doesn't work.

I had no problems streaming it.

Great discussion, keep it up guys aplauso.gif

I have issues with the 2G1T RSS feed, using the Listen app on my Motorola Bionic. I have no problems getting you guys on my phone.

I save target as with no problem.

Cool, my thread got a shout out on the cast. :)

It would have been cool to hear you break down the cards that comprise the "theme" of icon-manipulation as you discussed. Cards like The Viper's Rage, The Prince's Wrath, The Vaith, The Scourge, The Brimstone, Orphan of the Greenblood, To Be a Viper. Now, Martell should be able to see more characters that add/remove icons, and they need more effects that give detriments to opponent's without certain icons, like the ones included in the PotS expansion: The Old Palace, The Spear Tower, and The Tower of the Sun. (But they shouldn't be unique locations - there're enough of those...)

In order for that to happen, Danigral, we would actually have to know something about the game...

Haha, seriously, good suggestions. We'll keep doing our best to improve. Also thanks to everyone for the kind words in this thread! it's great to have such a supportive audience.

We'll have the next cast up tomorrow. The topic: "Can you win by not losing?"

Your toddling is interesting. It's cool to see how a local meta is developing in the moment. I especially like the "insolent n00b" bit - I remember thinking some of those things when I first started playing a couple years ago, and before I was absorbed into the meta.

Edit: And let me add that I really wish some fresh new thinkers came in and changed the meta single-handedly. I want people like melnick to upset the status-quo. It's like watching a good underdog film.
