Need help with weathering.
What's happening there is what's referred to as 'Pooling', you need to thin the wash because it's not traveling across the model. As I mentioned before a micro amount of washing up liquid will help. Also don't try wash the model all at one use a medium sized brush and just concentrate on a few panels at a time. Think of it more as applying another coat of paint.
The model does look good though. Has a really good German feel about the paint job.
Atm i'm working on removing the wash even a bit. Will see how it turns out.
Here is what I used to do with my Axis walkers:
1. Paint all with base colors (Codex Grey, Boltgun Metal)
2. Wash with Badab Black (looks shi**y after it dries
)
3. Heavy drybrush (Codex Grey, Boltgun again - it looks like it is dirty).
4. Weathering with sponge (I use Boltgun Metal - looks pretty good, at least I think that).
Daniello is bang on about the sponge system, it's looks great and is real easy. Dry brushing over a wash though is going to be a lot harder for you because of the multi colour camo scheme. A good heavy matt varnish over the walker BEFORE the wash will also help.
Looking much better.
That looks much better. As everyone has said watch the pooling of the washes and then highlight over them when dry to get a really great finished effect. Try some powders as well for rusting and soot effects.
